is the proximate cause of peace. Shariputra, in the Dharma of the Tathagata's complete enlightenment, there is no desire, no non-desire, no pleasure, no suffering, no mind, no mental activity, no perception, no feeling. Shariputra, even in that, there is no emptiness. Why is that? Shariputra, like this, in the thought of emptiness, there will also arise the thought of self, the thought of sentient beings, the thought of life, the thought of person, the thought of permanence, the thought of annihilation, the thought of arising, and the thought of destruction. Shariputra, why is that? Because as much as there is thought, so much is the grasping of the thought of characteristics. Therefore, it is entering wrongly. Shariputra, the emptiness of one with the thought of characteristics, because there is no attention to it, it is called emptiness. Because attention is paid to emptiness, it is also empty, therefore it is called emptiness. Shariputra, like this, in emptiness there is no virtue or non-virtue, therefore it is called emptiness. Shariputra, even in that, there is no thought of emptiness, therefore it is called emptiness. Shariputra, all conditioned things should be known, and that is without knowledge, without complete knowledge, without perfect knowledge, without discrimination, and without abiding, therefore it is called emptiness. Shariputra, emptiness cannot be attended to by anyone, it is not without characteristics, it is not without aspiration, it is not without attending to characteristics, therefore it is called emptiness. Shariputra, why is it said to abide in emptiness? Because all characteristics, and even the characteristic of emptiness, are not attended to, therefore it is called abiding in emptiness. Because characteristics are abandoned, it is called without characteristics. Shariputra, these characteristics, wherever they are, do not attend to anything, and there is no attention, and there are no characteristics, and there is no indication, therefore it is called without characteristics. Shariputra, whatever slightly grasps at characteristics and clings to them, that is a wrong view, so it is said. Why is that? S

Shariputra, even if one aims for the near pacification of this Dharma and Discipline, if one enters wrongly, what need to mention terms? What terms? What terms of that? Shariputra, why do the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, extensively show that terms are wrong? Shariputra, you do not know that these terms are not true. Therefore, the Tathagata understands that they are wrong, and there is no object even for a slight term. Shariputra, terms are wrong views, so it is said. Shariputra, the unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment of the Tathagatas is without memory, without attention. Why is that? Shariputra, the Tathagata does not object to his own suchness with any Dharma. He does not object to his own nature, he does not object to the nature of others, he does not object to equality, he does not object to inequality. Shariputra, why is it called mindfulness? Shariputra, the Tathagata said, the mindfulness that I object to, and the self-nature that I object to, and the suchness of myself that I object to, and the self-abiding that I object to, whatever these are, are not abodes and there is no opportunity. By the meaning of definitely realizing the Dharmas that are empty of their own characteristics, it is called mindfulness. Without attachment, without manifest attachment, without dwelling, without individual near dwelling, without universal dwelling, and without dwelling, if there is no memory of these, what need to mention mindfulness? Therefore, it is called mindfulness. Shariputra, if any Dharma has its own suchness, even if it is a small part of a hair tip divided into a hundred parts, Shariputra, the Tathagata would not appear in the world and teach that all Dharmas are without self-nature. Shariputra, because he knows that all Dharmas are without self-nature, and empty of self-nature, and of one nature, and without nature, therefore, the Tathagata teaches mindfulness, which is the display of mindfulness. For those without dwelling, and without changing dwelling, and without memory, and

Without the function of memory, without discrimination, without various discriminations, without mind, without the function of mind, without intellect, without the function of intellect, without dharma, without the concept of dharma, without the concept of clinging to all kinds of everything, without the function of duality, without a place, without a pervasive place. Therefore, the non-discrimination of the noble ones is called abiding in mindfulness. Thus, the mindfulness taught by the Tathagata, those that follow things, are called mindfulness. Shariputra, what is called remembering the Buddha? Seeing no things is remembering the Buddha. The Buddha is inconceivable, incomparable, the mind is with Suchness, this is remembering the Buddha. Shariputra, what is the mind with Suchness? The Buddhas, the Bhagavat, have no discrimination, no non-discrimination, no discrimination and no non-discrimination, therefore it is called remembering the Buddha. Seeing one's own nature is seeing the Buddha. What is seeing one's own nature? Seeing no things in no things is remembering the Buddha. Seeing the Buddha, the mind and mental factors cannot find even the slightest function of memory, therefore it is called remembering the Buddha. Shariputra, this dharma is the cessation of speech, the cessation of attention, because memory is also not easy to remember, therefore it is called remembering the Buddha. Shariputra, this dharma is the pacification of all attention, for those who strive diligently, remembering the Buddha is not attending to the marks of form of the Tathagata. Why is that? Shariputra, consciousness is always immersed only in the marks of form. Focusing on the formless, no things is remembering the Buddha. Therefore, without discrimination, without non-discrimination, without grasping is called remembering the Buddha. Memory
