When searching, it is always satisfying and initiates limitless diligence. And, look at how many things the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened One has done to please the Buddhas, and with how much hardship this unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment has been accomplished. Needless to say, these foolish beings do not even generate a single thought in order to completely liberate themselves from suffering. Shariputra, even achieving enlightenment through reason is so difficult, what need is there to mention achieving it without reason? Shariputra, therefore you should understand, you should comprehend. In any case, I will not say that excellent qualities can be obtained or realized through evil. Shariputra, what is evil? Shariputra, the actions of the body, the actions of speech, and the actions of the mind are evil, actions towards virtuous dharmas are evil, the object is evil, laziness is evil, and immoral discipline is evil. Shariputra, these are the worst of all evils. Shariputra, whoever enters this doctrine and becomes attached to saying "I," and similarly, becomes attached to saying "sentient being," saying "life," and saying "person (གང་ཟག, pudgala, pudgala, person)." Why is that? Shariputra, because the Tathagata directly sees that there is not even acceptance that accords with saying "person (གང་ཟག, pudgala, pudgala, person)." Shariputra, if even if billions of trillions of Buddhas teach the Dharma with three kinds of miracles every day to those who have a concept of an object, they will not abandon their view, and they will not even obtain a single morsel of alms given in faith for complete purification, let alone obtaining the fruit, that is not possible. Shariputra, if the view of person (གང་ཟག, pudgala, pudgala, person) could be completely liberated from suffering, then all ordinary beings would be completely liberated from suffering. Why is that? Shariputra, because the view of person (གང་ཟག, pudgala, pudgala, person) is a wrong view. Shariputra, almost all ignorant ordinary beings are attached to saying "I," and similarly, attached to saying "sentient being."

, and are manifestly attached to speaking of life and speaking of a person. Shariputra, therefore, all those who possess wrong views will be completely liberated from suffering. Shariputra, if someone thinks that one can be liberated from suffering without abandoning the view of a person, then all ordinary people will possess the noble path, because they do not lack the noble path. Shariputra, if someone thinks that wrong views can be liberated from suffering, then his view itself will become the noble path, because he cannot find any other attention. Why? Because all ordinary people do not contradict the view of a person. Those foolish people will also incur this fault: all ordinary people will attain the noble path, and those who have attained the noble path will kill all beings, indulge in desires, and commit the five heinous crimes in order to become familiar with the path. Therefore, the noble path of those foolish people will become the five heinous crimes. Why? Because all ordinary people are speaking of a person. Or, if someone says this: those who possess the five heinous crimes cannot be liberated from suffering, but those who speak of a person can be liberated from suffering, then he is lying and also slandering me, and even if he has become a monk and received the vows of a bhikkhu, he has become meaningless. Shariputra, you should understand, you should comprehend, those who have consciousness of an object cannot be liberated from suffering. Shariputra, if those who have consciousness of an object were to be liberated from suffering, then the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly enlightened Buddhas would not appear, and all ordinary people would be liberated from suffering. Why? Because all ordinary people are those who have an object, speak of a person, and have wrong views. S

"Shariputra, as long as I still possess such a view of clinging to objectives, along with the accompanying obstacles and harms, those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, would not prophesy to me, saying, 'In the future, you will become a Tathagata, an Arhat, a perfectly complete Buddha.' Look, as long as I do not possess these, what need is there to speak of the discipline, learning, and samadhi of those foolish individuals who cling to self and those who have a perception of person? For me, that is neither truth nor liberation." The Buddha said, "Why is that? Shariputra, because clinging to such unreal attachments for a long time, there is no complete nirvana in that. Those foolish individuals will not think, 'In any way, we should temporarily rely on, cultivate, and increase the characteristic of selflessness, so that we may abandon the accumulation of suffering.' Shariputra, for example, when a blind person is threatened by someone chasing from behind, with the thought that fleeing will bring safety, he jumps into a place filled with embers and torches. Shariputra, similarly, I think that those foolish individuals, no matter how they rely on the view of objectives and the view of person, will also become like that. Those who think they are purified by that alone. Sentient beings become afflicted by whatever, and they think they are liberated by that alone. Those who possess those views will go to the lower realms." The Buddha said, "Shariputra, just as that blind person jumps into the embers with the thought of safety, similarly, those foolish individuals will also cling to the person with the thought of safety. They are deceived and confused for a long time by whatever views, and therefore they become more attached to them and enjoy offerings through faith. They are completely engaged in that alone for a long time, causing harm, unbenefit, unhappiness, suffering, decline, being oppressed by others, and falling into wrongdoing for a long time."
