particularly clings to the possessions that others have fully possessed, especially likes to imitate, and in order to completely fulfill the anger and resentment towards a malicious person who constantly and continuously inflicts violence, becomes even more intensified, and those who hold wrong views, due to the deterioration of their views, constantly and continuously indulge in straying from the path, and do not even generate a single thought of keeping the correct view in mind. Shariputra, what do you think about this? Do those people who possess such paths of the ten non-virtuous actions accumulate a great amount of non-meritorious aggregates? World Honored One, yes, they will accumulate a great amount of non-meritorious aggregates. Sugata, yes, they will accumulate a great amount of non-meritorious aggregates. Shariputra, you should understand, you should comprehend. Those people who possess such paths of the ten non-virtuous actions, if they constantly and continuously accumulate non-meritorious aggregates for a hundred years without interruption, it is still less than a monk with broken vows, who covers himself with the banner of an Arhat and enjoys a single meal offered by faith, the latter will accumulate even more roots of non-virtue. Therefore, this monk with broken vows, if he enjoys a single meal offered by faith, then he will accumulate far more roots of non-virtue than those people. That is to say, a monk with broken vows enjoys a single meal offered by faith. Why is that? Shariputra, for example, a person who kills will be recognized by many people, will be known by many people, and will be worthy of being despised by many people. He will be called by everyone a violator of discipline, a cruel person, a sinner, a liar, an impure person, an unwholesome person, an inauspicious person, a person without merit, a person separated from merit, and will become an object to be abandoned by the masses. Many people will also know more clearly that he is without merit. Shariputra, although that is the case, the killer towards sentient beings...

Having harmed life, sometimes my own maturation becomes ugly, thereby giving rise to the thought of scolding that this of mine is not a part. This is because people correctly recognize immoral conduct. If they do not consider even a small merit in it, such as a part of a tip of a hair split into a hundred parts, or a part of a mustard seed split into a hundred million parts, what need to mention thinking of him as a source of merit? What need to mention that he would be poor, possess good fortune, possess happy maturation, be born in heaven, and be fit to go to higher realms? That is not an existing situation. Moreover, his sons, daughters, friends, relatives, and those with blood relations and connections, having correctly recognized his immoral conduct, if they see him, they will not rise, nor will they speak openly, what need to mention respecting him? That is not an existing situation. From that, whatever enjoyments he has accomplished, those will be used to maintain the lives of his sons and daughters. Shariputra, therefore, there are times when even a hunter becomes a source of merit like this. Due to the maturation of karma, after encountering the noble ones, if any bhikshu, bhikshuni, upasaka, or upasika becomes disgusted with killing and is allowed to correctly accept it, then he will turn away from that continuum, and if, in order to abandon killing, he finds faith in this teaching, thereby going forth from home to homelessness, in order to make it without obstruction, having gone forth after the Buddhas and the shravakas of the Buddha, relying on and drawing near to virtuous friends and respecting them, then he will obtain the state of a shramana. Whatever suffering arises that he will experience in this very life, and having eliminated the obstructions, the noble path will arise, and he will be completely liberated from the lower realms. Shariputra, here also there are evil bhikshus who are not shramanas but pretend to be shramanas, who are not brahmacharis but claim to be brahmacharis, they obstruct all virtuous dharmas. The virtuous
