I am utterly deteriorated. Shariputra, therefore it is called empty, exhausted, and deteriorated. Because it is outside of this sacred scripture, therefore it is called deteriorated. Because it differentiates from the Bodhi of the Buddha, and differentiates from the Dharma of the nature of emptiness without characteristics, without signs, and without aspirations, Shariputra, therefore it is called empty, exhausted, and deteriorated. Clinging to what is not true and clinging to what is meaningless, these cause the evil demons to rejoice. They, with all the precepts or worldly conduct, are the same as the various ignorant ordinary people. Those who do not possess the qualities of a holy person are called possessing non-patience. They are not the same as renunciants, not equal, not similar. Because those who hold objective views are outside of the qualities of a Shramana, the Dharma of a Shramana, the rituals of a Shramana, and the conduct of a Shramana. They do not even come close to one hundred thousandth part, Shariputra, therefore it is called empty, exhausted, and deteriorated. Those who are excessively attached to worldly affairs and claim to be Shramanas are not Shramanas but pretend to be Shramanas. They enjoy the offerings given by faith, always carrying the marks of thieves, and swaying the flag. They do not enjoy it in a completely pure way, not even a mouthful, like the completely pure objects of offering, the fields of merit of the world, therefore they are not completely enjoyed, without reason, without liberation. Shariputra, therefore it is called empty, deteriorated, and exhausted. Shariputra, what do you think? If a householder kills, takes what is not given, engages in sexual misconduct, speaks falsely, speaks divisively, speaks harshly, speaks frivolously, is greedy, is harmful, and has wrong views, would that householder who kills dwell in this, always constantly killing and harming? Or at all times
