There is no peace. Shariputra, in the Dharma taught by the Tathagata for the sake of complete nirvana, there is also no complete nirvana. Shariputra, in the Dharma taught by the Tathagata for the sake of liberation, there is also no liberation or complete liberation. Shariputra, in the Dharma taught by the Tathagata for the sake of definite arising, there is also no acceptance or taming. Shariputra, in the Dharma taught by the Tathagata for the sake of the wise knowing and understanding, there is also no understanding. Shariputra, in the Dharma taught by the Tathagata for the sake of completely purifying the mind, there is also no affliction whatsoever. Shariputra, in the Dharma taught by the Tathagata for the sake of the gods, there are also no gods. Shariputra, in the Dharma taught by the Tathagata for the sake of humans, there are also no humans. Shariputra, in the Dharma taught by the Tathagata for the sake of sentient beings, there are also no sentient beings. Shariputra, in the Dharma taught by the Tathagata for the sake of understanding and complete liberation, there is also no understanding or complete liberation. Shariputra, in the Dharma taught by the Tathagata for the recollection of the Buddha, even the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, do not practice recollection. Shariputra, the Tathagata speaks of abiding in emptiness, but one cannot abide for the sake of emptiness, nor can one attend to emptiness. Shariputra, the Tathagata teaches this and that Sutra, and there is no teacher or expounder in them. If there is a foolish person, he will cling and teach the Dharma to others, and will also say that I am a teacher. He will also be counted and connected by the name of the Sangha, but he will not possess those Dharmas that, when combined with what Dharma, make one a Sangha of the Tathagata's hearers. Shariputra, for example, monkeys and the gods of the Thirty-Three (त्रयस्त्रिंश,trayastriṃśa,Thirty-three) are not the same. Likewise, those foolish people and my Sangha of hearers are not the same.

Just as hearing the name of a god leads to worshipping a monkey, so too, those foolish individuals, merely valuing words, become those with the notion of ascetics. Shariputra, those who become questioners by nature will please the monks in this way: those who separately comprehend the absence of expression of name and form, the absence of terms, the absence of objects, the absence of arising, the absence of destruction, the absence of contradiction, and the absence of characteristics for the sake of not conceptually thinking. Those who, having heard such things as the absence of characteristics and the absence of arising, do not fear, do not panic, and do not become panicked, Shariputra, those are the ones for whom I have done something special for the previous victors. They are completely knowledgeable in this Dharma and Discipline. They are called the Noble Sangha. The chapter of the Noble Sangha, the fourth. The Vinaya Pitaka of the Buddha, Disciplining Those Who Violate the Moral Code. Volume Three. Shariputra, the sufferings of monks who violate the moral code are these ten. Monks who violate the moral code, possessing ten thorns of sorrow, do not taste the flavor of the Buddha's words. They do not enter into and do not become devoted to the profound Dharma that is taught. Hearing the Dharma of emptiness without object, without characteristics, and without aspirations, they become afraid, they become panicked, they become completely panicked. They do not understand the meaning spoken with consideration by the Tathagata. They also hate the Dharma-speaking monk. They also do not want to look at the Dharma-speaking monk. What are the ten? Shariputra, here, a monk who violates the moral code does not like the harmony of the Sangha and will generate displeasure. Why is that? He thinks, 'The end of the Uposatha karma of the harmonious Sangha of monks will not cause me to decline.' Seeing his own faults, he always dwells in the suffering of doubt, and he will also think that it is harmful to the monks who possess moral discipline. Shariputra, this is the first fault of the immoral conduct of the monks who violate the moral code.

Indeed, it is entered for the purpose of completely entering the lower realms. Shariputra, furthermore, a monk who has broken his vows becomes worthy of being reproached by many people, worthy of being expelled like a sharp bull's horn, because he always sees his own faults and exists in suffering. Shariputra, this is the second fault of a monk who has broken his vows, that of breaking his vows, which is entered for the purpose of completely entering the lower realms. Shariputra, furthermore, when a monk who has broken his vows sees the sangha of monks, he sits not far away and looks to the left and right, and if he does not see anyone similar to himself, he will return in disappointment. He is not happy to approach the sangha of monks, and even if he does approach, he will sit in a timid manner. Shariputra, this is the third fault of a monk who has broken his vows, that of breaking his vows, which is entered for the purpose of completely entering the lower realms. Shariputra, furthermore, a monk who has broken his vows is violent, without compassion, without healing, and completely abiding in the precepts of non-Buddhists. He does not share well with monks who are pure in discipline and possess the same discipline, because he is shameless due to the deterioration of his discipline. Shariputra, this is the fourth fault of a monk who has broken his vows, that of breaking his vows, which is entered for the purpose of completely entering the lower realms. Shariputra, furthermore, a monk who has broken his vows nourishes his body with the possessions accumulated by others. Shariputra, I am burdened by such a monk. Thus he spoke. What is the reason for this? Shariputra, I rejoice in the offerings given with faith by those who are wise and liberated. Shariputra, a monk who has broken his vows is not liberated because he lacks wisdom. Shariputra, therefore, even if a monk who has broken his vows cuts off the flesh of limbs and twigs for hundreds of thousands of millions of kalpas, there is no possibility of restoring them to their original state. In the animal realm
