And then he remained unhindered. As soon as Mañjuśrī Kumārabhūta entered that samādhi, then and at that time, these and other wonderful and marvelous things appeared. Then, Mañjuśrī Kumārabhūta put on his lower garment and said this to the great elder Kāśyapa: "O venerable Mahākāśyapa, please go forward! I will follow you. Why is that? Because the venerable Mahākāśyapa is old and has been ordained for a long time. He was ordained without having seen the Tathāgata, and whoever is an arhat in the world, he was ordained after him. Therefore, O venerable Mahākāśyapa, please go forward!" After he said this, the great Kāśyapa said this to Mañjuśrī Kumārabhūta: "Mañjuśrī, in the well-spoken Dharma and Vinaya, no one is considered old because of being old or old in years. Mañjuśrī, in the well-spoken Dharma and Vinaya, one is considered old by wisdom, old by learning, old by eloquence, and old by the extreme differentiation of faculties. Mañjuśrī, you are old by wisdom, old by learning, old by eloquence, and you are skilled in knowing good and bad faculties, therefore, you are the elder Thera, please go forward! I will follow you. Furthermore, Mañjuśrī, in order to explain this matter very clearly, I would like to give an example here. Mañjuśrī, for example, a lion cub that has not been born for a long time, although the strength of my power is not yet complete, wherever the scent of that lion cub is carried by the wind, all the wild animals cannot bear that scent and run away. Even the sixty-year-old woolly elephants, tightly bound by strong vines, when they smell the scent of that lion cub, they are terrified and cut the vines and flee in all directions. Those who live in caves enter the caves, those who live in holes enter the holes, those who live in water enter the water, and the birds fly into the sky. Mañjuśrī, in the same way, a Bodhisattva who first generates the mind

Furthermore, although the power of wisdom and enlightenment has not yet been attained, as soon as the mind of enlightenment is generated, it will overcome all Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. All demons will also become frightened and terrified, and will become unhappy in my dwelling. Again, Manjushri, just as a lion cub who has obtained the strength and power of a lion, even if he hears the sound of other lions roaring, will not be afraid or terrified, but will think, 'Before long, I too will roar like a lion.' Manjushri, in the same way, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva hears the lion's roar of the Buddha, he will not be afraid, he will not be alarmed, he will not be terrified, but will think, 'Before long, I too will attain enlightenment in the same way, and like the Buddha, I will utter the true lion's roar.' Manjushri, therefore, those who say, 'Who is the most senior among the Shravakas? Who is the most senior among the Pratyekabuddhas? Who is the most senior among the Tathagatas?' and speak correctly, those people are speaking about the mind of enlightenment of Manjushri, and are speaking correctly. Why is that? Manjushri, all these virtuous dharmas arise from it. Therefore, Manjushri, you are the elder brother, the senior one, please go first. I will follow you. Then, Manjushri, who had become a youth, went forward, and those Bodhisattva Mahasattvas and those great Shravakas also followed him. As soon as Manjushri, who had become a youth, went onto that jeweled path, Then, at that time, from the sky above, a great rain of flowers visibly fell. The sound of hundreds of thousands of cymbals also arose. The great earth also shook violently in six ways. The world was also filled with great light. Then, Manjushri, who had become a youth, possessed such splendor, and hundreds of thousands of rays of light arose from his body. As a rain of lotus flowers fell, he went to the great city, and King Ajatashatru heard that Manjushri, who had become a youth, was surrounded by eighty-two thousand Bodhisattvas and about five hundred Shravakas, and was coming to greet him.

Having heard this, he thought, 'Here is a feast prepared for five hundred, but now so many have come, where should they stay, and what should I offer?' He thought, 'I have been deceived by Manjushri Kumara.' As soon as King Ajatashatru had such a thought, at that very moment, the great King Nanda and the Yaksha lord Kubera manifested their great bodies and said to King Ajatashatru, 'Great King, do not be displeased. Manjushri Kumara has great wisdom, possesses the splendor of wisdom, and is skilled in the blessings of magical power. If he wishes, even with just one portion of food and drink, he can satisfy all sentient beings belonging to the three-thousand great-thousand world realm, let alone eighty-two thousand. Great King, do not be displeased, everything will exceed expectations.' Why is that? Great King, the method of giving of Manjushri Kumara is inexhaustible.' Then, King Ajatashatru, having heard these words, felt joy, delight, and satisfaction, and a happy and pleasant mind arose, and he further revered Manjushri Kumara with the perception of the Buddha. Then, King Ajatashatru, with his retinue and entourage, carrying flowers, incense, garlands, unguents, and powders, along with attendants, came out to meet Manjushri Kumara. He made offerings to Manjushri Kumara and then returned to his own residence. Then, Manjushri Kumara, with his retinue, went to the residence of King Ajatashatru and entered therein. After entering, all the inhabitants of the city also devoted themselves to the work of offering. Also, at that time, in that assembly of Bodhisattvas, a great Bodhisattva named Samantadarshin was gathered. Then, Manjushri Kumara said to the great Bodhisattva Samantadarshin, 'Son of good family, you should arrange the places for the retinue, and know that the time has come.'
