The head, eyes, and ears are like the red essence of a torch burning due to oil, and so on. The many kinds of conceptualizations are like how worldly people meditate on the self. Those constant and unchanging dependencies, I am like this, all Buddhas and all Shravakas have not attained, but after enlightenment, they teach it to sentient beings. The meaning of this verse is like this, if one distinguishes it in a reversed and confused way, then that is not its meaning. What the Buddhas have not attained refers to the fact that even the past Buddhas, the Bhagavat, passed away without having attained the essence of the Tathagata. The uncreated Buddha realm, adorned with limitless excellent marks and signs, exists in the hearts of all sentient beings. The present Buddhas, the Bhagavat, even if they diligently search for the essence of the Tathagata, they cannot attain it. In the hearts of all sentient beings, there is the uncreated Buddha-nature, and all sentient beings possess the Buddha realm adorned with limitless marks and signs. Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas like bees in the three times all say that there is the essence of the Tathagata, but the eyes cannot see it. The reason for such a question has been explained. For example, the teachings of Rahula and those who strictly uphold the precepts carefully observe the water with living beings to see if there are living beings or just some dust. They think it is neither, but gradually observing, they will see that there are tiny living beings. Similarly, the noble ones who have attained the ten Bhumis of Bodhisattvas also personally see that there is the self-nature of me in their own bodies, and like this, they see it in the boundless self-nature. Therefore, entering the essence of the Tathagata is very difficult. Those who, in a world like completely burning and extremely burning, even give up their own lives to proclaim it, are extremely rare and precious, and can bring benefit. I will proclaim the essence of the Tathagata to those Bodhisattva noble ones, but not to others. Those sentient beings are themselves Tathagata...

It is so. For example, like the immovable one who possesses the divine eye, together with the immovable one, a child with flesh eyes goes to look at the traces of a bird flying into the sky. Can the child with flesh eyes see the bird traces in the sky? The immovable one clearly sees it, and the person with flesh eyes also deeply believes in the teachings of the venerable one, just like that. Like a child with flesh eyes, all the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas believe in the principles of all the Sutras and know that there is the Tathagatagarbha, but how can they truly see the realm of the Tathagata's essence? Therefore, the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas rely on others, just like blind people, how can they believe? In the past, someone said that this is the four tastes, and I heard from the Buddhas of the past who were perfectly and completely enlightened, they did not say anything else. Any sentient beings who have tasted the four tastes, those sentient beings still eat soil in their childhood, because they have long been attached to the delicious taste, and sentient beings still cannot give it up. Similarly, in the past, in front of many Buddhas who were perfectly and completely enlightened, any sentient beings who meditated on and increased the Tathagatagarbha, now still believe in the Tathagatagarbha, those sentient beings have long practiced and repaid the kindness of the Tathagata, and are not others. In the future, any sentient beings who proclaim the Tathagatagarbha, and sentient beings who hear and believe it, are not others, just like the son of the Tathagata eating soil, it is repaying the kindness of the Tathagata. In the past, those sentient beings who became livestock, violated their own mothers, and whose mothers were completely intoxicated, still grind their teeth when they sleep and do not believe in the Dharma nature of the Tathagatagarbha. In the future, any sentient beings who grind their teeth and do not believe in the Tathagatagarbha are not others, those monks become livestock and do not understand the Dharma nature. In the past, those sentient beings who became pigeons were very greedy for form.
