儿子也应欢喜，应如何礼拜佛陀？像你这样的恶子，我无法忍受听到众人严厉的言辞。他以诸如此类的多种方式哀叹。然后，世尊对指鬘说道：“指鬘，你的母亲正在树下，像这样行持极其艰难的妇女，你手持利剑，想要杀死她，认为我的母亲会升入天界，指鬘，你将非法之蕴误认为法。例如，在夏季的第一个月，野兽们误以为海市蜃楼是水，四处游荡。指鬘，你也因恶师的教言而迷惑，将非法视为法的众生，将堕入名为无间的大苦之中。指鬘，迅速皈依如来，去吧，去吧！进入吧！指鬘，你不要害怕！如来是无畏的来源，佛陀视一切众生如罗睺罗星，医治疾病，是无依者的依靠。佛陀安住于寂静之处，是无助者的帮助。佛陀是贫困者取之不尽的宝藏。佛陀是为迷路者指引正道者。佛陀是受恐惧折磨者的庇护。如来是沉船者的船只。 迅速放下利器，接受出家和具足戒。去吧，触碰上师的脚，请求宽恕。请求让老烦恼母出家，从无尽的轮回中解脱众生，并给予出家和具足戒的良好袈裟。指鬘，你长期在恶道中徘徊，已经疲惫不堪，饮用法的甘露之水吧！指鬘，你也接受袈裟。如来也接受袈裟，指鬘，如来是为一切众生接受袈裟的道路。

Angulimala, you are also deluded by the instructions of a bad teacher, and beings who think of non-dharma as dharma will go to the great suffering called Avici. Angulimala, quickly take refuge in the Tathagata, go, go! Enter! Angulimala, do not be afraid! The Tathagata is the source of fearlessness, the Buddha sees all beings as Rahula, heals the sick, and is the refuge of the helpless. The Buddha dwells in a quiet place, and is the help of the helpless. The Buddha is the inexhaustible treasure of the poor. The Buddha is the one who shows the right path to those who have lost their way. The Buddha is the refuge of those who are tormented by fear. The Tathagata is the ship of those who are shipwrecked. Quickly put down the sharp weapon, and take ordination and full ordination. Go, touch the feet of the guru, and ask for forgiveness. Ask to let the old afflicted mother be ordained, liberate beings from endless samsara, and give the good robes of ordination and full ordination. Angulimala, you have wandered in the evil path for a long time, and have become tired, drink the water of the nectar of dharma! Angulimala, you also receive the robes. The Tathagata also receives the robes, Angulimala, the Tathagata is the path of receiving robes for all beings.

Alas, I have done unforgivable things, I have accumulated many sins. Mother, you are my refuge! The Buddha is the true protector. Place your feet on my head, I pray for ordination and full ordination. Then, the mother replied to her son with a verse: I have already let you go, go forth and practice in the next world!
