Manjushri replied: World Honored One, it can be done. Sugata, it can be done after a long period of time. If you want to know if this is the effect of magical power, Manjushri, for example, if someone wants to transcend those worlds, and there are his deeds, great deeds, meanings, great meanings, great purposes, and extremely great purposes, then that person thinks: What kind of magical power should I use to transcend those worlds? He also contemplates: Should I transcend those worlds with the magical power of the Shravakas? Manjushri, what do you think? Can that person transcend those worlds with the magical power of the Shravakas? Manjushri replied: World Honored One, no. They offer with utmost respect with clothes and the like. They read and recite the Mahayana, and receive it with joy and great joy. They do not generate contempt for bodhisattvas who have not studied. They speak with a smile and frankly, their words are not vulgar, fierce, or harsh, but joyful and pleasant. Even for the sake of their lives, they do not abandon the Mahayana. To the bodhisattvas who have entered the Mahayana, and to those who read the Mahayana, and to those who fully uphold the Mahayana, they uphold them to the best of their ability with a thought that surpasses their heart. They do not argue or contend with anyone. They are by nature seeking sutras that have never occurred before and have not been heard. From those from whom they have heard, they generate extreme respect as if for the teacher. They do not despise other bodhisattvas who have not studied the conduct of bodhisattvas. They do not talk about others with faults that are true or untrue. They also do not seek the faults of others, but cultivate loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity. Manjushri, this should be understood as a bodhisattva walking like a Shravaka with miraculous powers. Manjushri, how should one understand a bodhisattva walking like a Tathagata with miraculous powers? Manjushri, for example, if someone wants to transcend those world realms, and there is their work, great work, meaning, great meaning, important matter, and extremely important matter, they think to themselves: 'By what kind of miraculous power should I quickly transcend those world realms?' They also contemplate this: 'In order for me to transcend those world realms, I must pray to the Tathagata.' Manjushri, that person also goes to the Tathagata and prays, saying: 'Bhagavan, I wish to transcend five hundred Buddha-field dust-mote number of world realms, and there I also have things to do, great things to do, meaning, great meaning, important matters, and extremely important matters.'
