Thus, all afflictions are those that harm the body and harm the mind. I abide in the wisdom of the door of the appearance of Dharma, and I also place others in the wisdom of the door of the appearance of Dharma, thus one will obtain the exhalation. Manjushri, the wisdom of the door of the appearance of Dharma arises from four dharmas. What are the four? They are: faith, conscientiousness, thought, and higher intention. Manjushri, by these four dharmas, the wisdom of the door of the appearance of Dharma of Bodhisattvas will arise, and by the wisdom of the door of the appearance of Dharma, all the falls of Bodhisattvas into evil destinies and evil paths will be cut off. I abide in the wisdom of the door of the appearance of wisdom, and I also place others in the wisdom of the door of the appearance of wisdom, thus one will obtain the exhalation. Manjushri, the wisdom of the door of the appearance of wisdom arises from four dharmas. What are the four? They are: the accumulation of merit, the accumulation of wisdom, faith in emptiness, and directing sentient beings towards the mind of enlightenment. Manjushri, by these four dharmas, the wisdom of the door of the appearance of wisdom of Bodhisattvas will arise, and by the wisdom of the door of the appearance of wisdom, the noose of Mara and all the actions of Mara will be cut off. I abide in the wisdom of giving the inexhaustible thought of generosity, and I also place others in the wisdom of giving the inexhaustible thought of generosity, thus one will obtain the exhalation. Manjushri, the wisdom of giving the inexhaustible thought of generosity will cause Bodhisattvas to fully ripen miserly sentient beings. I abide in the wisdom of giving the inexhaustible thought of morality, and I also place others in the wisdom of giving the inexhaustible thought of morality, thus one will obtain the exhalation. Manjushri, the wisdom of giving the inexhaustible thought of morality will cause Bodhisattvas to fully ripen sentient beings who violate morality. Manjushri, these five attainments of exhalation will purify the first ground of Bodhisattvas.

Furthermore, Manjushri, if one can obtain five 'exhalations,' the first ground of the Bodhisattvas will be completely purified. What are the five? They are: 'I abide in inner perfect concentration, and I also establish others in inner perfect concentration,' thus one will obtain 'exhalation.' Among them, inner perfect concentration refers to the absence of timidity towards all undertakings that initiate virtuous roots, with body and mind being secluded. 'I abide in the nature of conditioned phenomena, and I also establish others in the nature of conditioned phenomena,' thus one will obtain 'exhalation.' Among them, the nature of conditioned phenomena means that all phenomena are not empty, not non-empty, not imputed, not non-imputed, not additive, not non-additive, not existent, not non-existent, not conditioned, not unconditioned, not characteristic, not without characteristic, not abiding, not non-abiding, not two, not non-two, not graspable, not ungraspable, not taking, not abandoning. Such an entry is called the nature of conditioned phenomena. 'I abide in the nature of unconditioned phenomena, and I also establish others in the nature of unconditioned phenomena,' thus one will obtain 'exhalation.' Among them, the nature of unconditioned phenomena means that with respect to those phenomena themselves, there is no differentiation, no arrogance, no imputation, no non-conceptualization, no various conceptualizations; this is called the nature of unconditioned phenomena. 'I abide in seeing things as they are, and I also establish others in seeing things as they are,' thus one will obtain 'exhalation.' Among them, seeing things as they are means entering into duality and non-duality without characteristics. Why? Because non-duality is not different from the nature of duality; since non-duality is not different from the nature of duality, the nature of duality itself is non-duality. Such an entry is called seeing things as they are. 'I abide in non-anger, and I also establish others in non-anger,' thus one will obtain 'exhalation.' Among them, non-anger means entering into things and activities that benefit all sentient beings.
