When the Tathagata goes from here to there, and from there to here, it is like this: By the power of the Buddha, above the head of each Bodhisattva is a white silver umbrella with a golden handle, covered with a net of red pearls, surrounded by a net of golden bells. Without being held, they move back and forth in the sky. All the Bodhisattvas are the same. The nets of bells attached to those precious umbrellas, when moved by the wind, produce a melodious and pleasing sound. The sound produced by the precious umbrellas being moved by the wind cannot be matched even by the playing of hundreds of thousands of musical instruments. The precious umbrellas and bells, as well as the leaves of the precious trees, the precious ropes, the precious platforms, the musical instruments, and the songs, all produce sounds of various Dharma gates by the power of the Buddha. At that time, those beings who are devoted to generosity hear the sound of generosity. Those who are devoted to ethics hear the sound of ethics. Similarly, those who are devoted to patience, diligence, and meditation, and those who are devoted to wisdom, hear the sound of wisdom. Similarly, there are the sounds of emptiness (Tibetan: སྟོང་པ་ཉིད།), signlessness (Tibetan: མཚན་མ་མེད་པ།), wishlessness (Tibetan: སྨོན་པ་མེད་པ།), birthlessness (Tibetan: སྐྱེ་བ་མེད་པ།), and cessationlessness (Tibetan: འགག་པ་མེད་པ།), as well as the sounds of faculties (Tibetan: དབང་པོ།), powers (Tibetan: སྟོབས།), limbs of enlightenment (Tibetan: བྱང་ཆུབ་ཀྱི་ཡན་ལག), and the path (Tibetan: ལམ།), as well as the sounds of clairvoyance (Tibetan: མངོན་པར་ཤེས་པ།), powers (Tibetan: སྟོབས།), fearlessness (Tibetan: མི་འཇིགས་པ།), discriminating awareness (Tibetan: སོ་སོ་ཡང་དག་པར་རིག་པ།), and the Buddha's unshared qualities. Beings hear and perceive the sounds according to their inclinations. Having heard these Dharma sounds, countless immeasurable beings are assured of attaining unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Son of the lineage, when the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfect Buddha, Golden Light, goes back and forth on that path, in the sky directly above his head, divine precious umbrellas adorned with hundreds of thousands of jewels rise up without being held, and move back and forth.

That precious umbrella and the tinkling bell produce sounds that are melodious and pleasing, and thus the Dharma called the "Tathāgata's Seal" was taught. After saying this, the Bodhisattva Mahāsattva Supreme Delight addressed the Blessed One: "Blessed One, the Dharma called the 'Tathāgata's Seal' that arises from the precious umbrella of the Tathāgata Golden Radiance, please, Blessed One, may the Tathāgata explain it well." After this request, the Blessed One said to the Bodhisattva Mahāsattva Supreme Delight: "Son of good family, therefore, listen well and keep it in mind, and I will briefly explain the Tathāgata's Seal. Son of good family, all dharmas are the seal of emptiness, the seal of signlessness, the seal of wishlessness, without arising, without ceasing, the seal of non-abiding, the seal of non-entity, the seal of the realm of Dharma, the seal of suchness, the seal of the ultimate reality, the seal of as it is, the seal of detachment, the seal of solitude, the seal of liberation, the seal of signlessness, the seal of non-action and non-movement, and the seal of the ungraspable and the placeless. Son of good family, all dharmas are sealed with the seal of space. Son of good family, for example, it is not easy to carve a seal in space, nor does a seal remain, nor can the embossment of a seal be placed. Why is that? Because there is no place, no condition, no cause, no production, and no support. Son of good family, likewise, a Bodhisattva Mahāsattva who correctly knows that all dharmas are like space, have the aspect of space, the nature of space, and reveals space, then all dharmas abide in space without being able to be designated, they are merely designations. Just as all dharmas of space abide without being able to be designated, they are merely designations.

Just as it is exhausted, all dharmas also abide in such a way that they cannot be designated. They truly know that it is only a designation. If one knows that all dharmas are merely designations, then one does not contradict reality. If one does not contradict reality, then one knows the seal of the Tathagata. This is the seal of the Tathagata, therefore one will not be confused about reality. When this teaching was expounded, five hundred Bodhisattvas obtained forbearance of the non-arising of dharmas. Then, the Bhagavan addressed the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Samantaprabha, saying: "Son of good family, in this way, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly complete Buddha Golden Excellent Light, together with the Bodhisattva Sangha, went to that surrounding enclosure. When they arrived there, hundreds of thousands of gods were delighted to perform the work of offering, scattering Utpala flowers, lotuses, Kumuda flowers, and white lotuses. They also rained down showers of heavenly Mandarava flowers, and played hundreds of thousands of billions of musical instruments. Son of good family, in this way, when the Tathagata Golden Excellent Light was dwelling in that surrounding enclosure, the four great kings, Indra, and Brahma, the lord of the Sahā world, were near to perform the work of offering, the work of service, and the work of reverence. What kind of offering were they delighted to do? In this way, when the Tathagata was dwelling together with the Bodhisattva Sangha, behind each Bodhisattva, a white elephant adorned with all kinds of ornaments was standing nearby. On the trunk of that elephant king, there was also, in this way, a bright and pleasing jeweled umbrella to protect from the wind and sun. On the trunk of all the elephant kings, there were also hanging necklaces of bright blue pearls. From those necklaces, cool water flowed, resembling blue beryl, possessing eight qualities, and that water performed the function of water. As soon as the Bodhisattvas were seated, in this way, by the power of the gods, a jeweled begging bowl appeared in their right hands. The gods also
