Thus it is. The gods of towns, cities, villages, regions, districts, the surroundings of the royal palace, and those places, whoever they were, all together with their respective abodes, came to where the Blessed One was, in order to behold the Blessed One, to pay homage, to make offerings, to venerate, and to listen to the Dharma. By the power of the Blessed One, there was no harm or obstruction to any sentient being. Hundreds of millions of moons, hundreds of millions of suns, and hundreds of millions of oceans, each possessing many attendants, came to where the Blessed One was, in order to behold the Blessed One, to pay homage, to make offerings, to venerate, and to listen to the Dharma. The great naga king Anavatapta also came with his retinue to where the Blessed One was, in order to behold the Blessed One, to pay homage, to make offerings, to venerate, and to listen to the Dharma. All sentient beings who had gone to the realm of animals also came to where the Blessed One was, in order to behold the Blessed One, to pay homage, to make offerings, to venerate, and to listen to the Dharma. All those sentient beings who had gone to the realm of animals were devoted to the Great Vehicle, inclined towards the Great Vehicle, and all desired the wisdom of omniscience. At that time, the color, form, splendor, and light of the Blessed One overwhelmed the entire assembly, shining brightly, radiantly, and brilliantly. Just as the sun emits countless billions of rays of light and overwhelms all the fireflies, shining brightly, radiantly, and brilliantly, so too, the Blessed One...

I, Indra, Brahma, and all the protectors of the world are overwhelmed, radiant, clear, and shining. For example, like the full moon on the fifteenth day of the waxing moon, when the lunar disc is freed from the net of clouds, it overwhelms all the constellations, radiant, clear, and shining. Similarly, the Bhagavan also shames Indra, Brahma, and all the protectors of the world, overwhelming them, radiant, clear, and shining, like Mount Sumeru, the king of mountains, blazing with glory, his body unmoving, unchanging, and unshakable, radiant, clear, and shining. Then, Manjushri, the youth, said to the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Sarvanivaranaviskambhin, 'O son of the Victorious One, thus the Tathagata abides with his body unmoving, unchanging, and unshakable.' After he said this, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Sarvanivaranaviskambhin said to Manjushri, the youth, 'Manjushri, regarding this Tathagata, some in this assembly know that he is approaching renunciation and is manifestly emerging from the household. Some know that he has renounced and is abiding in ascetic practice. Some in this assembly know that he has gone to the Bodhi tree. Some know that he is abiding at the Bodhi tree. Some in this assembly know that he has vanquished the countless immeasurable hosts of Maras surrounding him. Some know that gods, nagas, yakshas, gandharvas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, mahoragas, Indra, Brahma, and countless immeasurable protectors of the world are rejoicing and shouting, "Victory, victory to the great leader!" Some know that he has attained complete enlightenment and the Indras are requesting him. Some know that he is being requested by the Brahmas. Some in this assembly know that the protectors of the world are requesting the Bhagavan. Some know that the Bhagavan is teaching us the words of generosity.'
