Thus, they become attached and abandon the Dharma, and also commit various non-virtuous deeds. Manjushri, the Buddhas' teachings are without birth or cessation. Manjushri, the Buddhas' teachings are unborn, unceasing, without letters, without sound, non-dual, without antidote, and have completely transcended sound. Why is that? Because there is no antidote. Manjushri, these are the Buddhas' teachings! Manjushri, these are not the Buddhas' teachings! These two are extremes. Manjushri, whatever is an extreme is not the Buddhas' teaching. Manjushri, the Buddhas' teaching is the nature of boundlessness. Manjushri, the nature of boundlessness is unborn and unceasing. Manjushri, whatever is unborn and unceasing is the complete abandonment of extremes and boundlessness. It is without letters, without sound, completely transcending sound, not to be designated, non-dual, and without antidote. Manjushri, whatever is without antidote is unborn and unceasing. Whatever is unborn and unceasing is the Buddha's word. Why is that? Manjushri, the Tathagata is the Dharmakaya, utterly unborn, unarisen, and unceasing. Although there are no sections in it, beings see the Tathagata through the blessings of the power of past roots of virtue, conduct, and aspiration. Manjushri, for example, a water-clearing jewel, as soon as it is placed in water, clears all the mud and turbidity. But Manjushri, the water-clearing jewel does not think, does not discriminate. However, it spontaneously accomplishes and, without discrimination, such an action occurs. Manjushri, similarly, as soon as the Tathagata appears, he pacifies all the mud and turbidity of the afflictions of all beings in all the realms of the ten directions. But the Tathagata does not think, does not discriminate. However, it spontaneously accomplishes and, without discrimination, such an action occurs. Manjushri, for example, the potter's wheel, thrown with great speed and force, is due to the potter's power.

Moreover, although various actions are manifested, Manjushri, the potter's wheel is non-conceptual, it is non-discriminating. However, it is spontaneously accomplished, and in non-discrimination, such an action will arise. Manjushri, similarly, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly enlightened Buddha, also by the power of the blessings of the strength of previous virtuous roots, and conduct, and aspirations, according to the wishes of sentient beings, manifests various virtuous roots to sentient beings, but the Tathagata is non-conceptual, it is non-discriminating. However, it is spontaneously accomplished, and in non-discrimination, such an action will arise, because it possesses the Buddha's unmixed qualities. Manjushri, whichever sentient beings offer food to the Tathagata, and whichever do not offer food, and whichever see, and whichever do not see, and whichever praise, and whichever do not praise, and whichever scold, and whichever do not scold, and whichever request, and whichever do not request, all the actions of those sentient beings also arise spontaneously and non-discriminatingly by the blessings of the Buddha. Manjushri, all those who have become the most excellent retinue of the Tathagata also arise from being completely taken care of by virtuous spiritual friends. Manjushri, a Bodhisattva who is completely taken care of by a virtuous spiritual friend obtains the dharani of accomplishment that perfectly accomplishes the Buddha's immeasurable body and color, and having obtained that dharani, he makes all the realms of the ten directions filled with the Buddha's body. In each realm, he also shows the body of perfect complete enlightenment. Spontaneously accomplished, in non-discrimination, he turns countless wheels of Dharma, and shows countless distinct Dharmas, and does not move from his place. Manjushri, in this way, virtuous spiritual friends are endowed with inconceivable qualities. Manjushri, therefore, a Bodhisattva should rely on virtuous spiritual friends as he would treat the Tathagata. He should draw near. He should draw near with respect. Manjushri, unwholesome spiritual friends are like a rock nest burning fiercely, they will...
