The sound of 'Ge' proclaims happiness, the lord of beings has come here, with the fearless roar of a lion, he teaches the Dharma that is non-dual and without elaboration. Then, the boy Ratna-dāna (Precious Giving) said to my mother: Mother, please put me here at this window, I want to see the Tathāgata. Then, that mother put the boy Ratna-dāna at the window. Then, the Blessed One, knowing with his wisdom all the thoughts in the boy Ratna-dāna's mind, went to that very street. The boy Ratna-dāna also saw the Blessed One coming. Having seen him, he thought: Those who see such a Tathāgata endowed with all qualities, and do not generate the mind of Bodhi, have truly found a bad find. Then, the Blessed One went to the door of the boy Ratna-dāna. Then, the boy Ratna-dāna thought: Such a special being is difficult to find even in hundreds of millions of kalpas, I should jump from this mansion. Then, at that time, the boy Ratna-dāna held in his palm a lotus made entirely of gold, with a hundred thousand petals. Then, the boy Ratna-dāna himself jumped from that mansion. By the power of the Buddha, he remained in the sky. Then, the boy Ratna-dāna offered that lotus made entirely of gold, with a hundred thousand petals, to the Blessed One. After that lotus was released from the boy Ratna-dāna's hand, the Blessed One transformed it into a lotus umbrella in the sky directly above his head, and also hung down a net of jewels. Then, at that time, the boy Ratna-dāna spoke these verses: I offer this lotus to the Buddha, I seek nothing at all, in order to cut off all things, I seek supreme Bodhi. Just as Bodhi has not arisen, there is no attainment, no destruction, nothing to take, nothing to abandon, thus I offer flowers. Whatever meaning children contemplate, that contemplation has no meaning, in order to cut off all thoughts, the supreme person.

I make offerings. Therefore, this flower that I offer will not become a ripened fruit for me. In order to cut off all things, I offer this lotus. In my Buddha-field, except for the supreme Victor's Great Vehicle, even the name of a Hearer, and the name of a Solitary Realizer, will not appear. Then, the venerable great Maudgalyāyana's son spoke in verse to the boy Ratnadatta: You make offerings with faith to such a teacher, but if your wisdom is inverted, how will you become a Buddha? Then, the boy Ratnadatta spoke in verse to the venerable great Maudgalyāyana's son: All these are unborn, and conditioned things are deceptive and unreal. How can there be any real existence in such dharmas? You wear the monastic robe, the kasaya, and consider yourself an Arhat. Are not the objects of these consciousnesses also emptiness? Because you abide in an object of focus, you have displeased countless Buddhas. But those countless Buddhas are also seen as pacified, so no one has displeased them. Maudgalyāyana's son, is there still an object of focus entering? With what does your mind completely tame even merit? Then, the venerable great Maudgalyāyana's son said this to the boy Ratnadatta: Boy, did the Tathagata attain unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment, or did he not teach the Dharma? The boy Ratnadatta said: Maudgalyāyana's son, the wise should not elaborate on Bodhi. Nor should one be arrogant about the Tathagata. One should not contemplate that the Dharma does not arise. One should not contemplate that all dharmas are conditioned. One should not contemplate that all dharmas are unconditioned. Similarly, combining them, one should not contemplate that all dharmas are arising and non-arising, real and unreal, grasping and releasing, meeting and separating, going and coming, abiding and changing, the dharma of desire, the dharma of hatred, the dharma of delusion, dharma and non-dharma. From ignorance and so on, up to the dharmas of ordinary beings, and the Hearers.
