When giving the alms of gardens, ascetic forests, and monasteries, just like the aspiration praised and extolled by the Buddha, may I, through this alms of giving gardens, ascetic forests, and monasteries, perfect the limbs of meditation for all sentient beings. Thus, one makes the aspiration. There are also subsequent words to this: By giving gardens, may the gods, may I cause all sentient beings, to perfect the limbs of meditation, step by step, may it be so. By giving gardens, may the gods, that person, the yogi, may the limbs of meditation be completely perfected, and the practice of yoga be greatly ascetic. Regarding this, how does one strive to give alms of wives, sons, and daughters? Son of good family, the Bodhisattva should think thus: the so-called alms of giving wives, sons, and daughters, is the supreme word for the Bodhisattvas to attain unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, I should give alms of wives, sons, and daughters without hesitation. When giving the alms of wives, sons, and daughters, just like the aspiration revered by the Thus-Gone One, may I, through this alms of giving wives, sons, and daughters, cause all sentient beings to attain unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Thus, one makes the aspiration. There are also subsequent words to this: By the alms of a son, may quickly, for the sake of each and every sentient being, may all sentient beings attain the unsurpassed, supreme enlightenment. Giving wives, sons, and daughters, for this enlightenment there is no defilement, no joy, a person endowed with diligence, in whatever matter, should regard it as having no difficulty. Regarding this, how does one strive to give alms of wealth, grain, and storehouses? Son of good family, the Bodhisattva should think thus: the alms of giving wealth, grain, and storehouses.

That which is called 'giving' is the supreme expression for bodhisattvas to perfect the treasury of the sacred Dharma. I should undoubtedly give the giving of all wealth, grain, and storehouses. When giving the giving of all wealth, grain, and storehouses, just as in the aspiration spoken by the Thus-Gone One, may I, through this giving of all wealth, grain, and storehouses, cause the treasury of the sacred Dharma of all sentient beings to be perfected. Thus, one makes the aspiration. To that, it is said: What do I have that is greater than the sky, the merit of giving wealth and riches? May the minds of people quickly increase, like the treasury of a king, through the treasury of the sacred Dharma. Wealth, grain, storehouses, and women, what merit do I have from giving? Therefore, may I quickly attain enlightenment and obtain the treasury of the sacred Dharma. To that, how does one strive to give the giving of all the four continents, Jambudvipa, and the dominion of royal power? Son of good family, that bodhisattva thinks thus: That which is called the giving of all the four continents, Jambudvipa, and the dominion of royal power is the supreme expression for bodhisattvas to obtain the dominion of the royal power of the sacred Dharma. I should undoubtedly give the giving of all the four continents, Jambudvipa, and the dominion of royal power. When giving the giving of all the four continents, Jambudvipa, and the dominion of royal power, just as in the aspiration taught by the Thus-Gone One, may I, through this giving of all the four continents, Jambudvipa, and the dominion of royal power, cause all sentient beings to obtain the attainment of the dominion of the royal power of the sacred Dharma. Thus, one makes the aspiration. To that, it is said: From these four continents that I have completely given away, what little merit have I accumulated? Therefore, may people from these sacred Dharma

May the attainment of kingship be achieved! By the giving of Jambudvipa, may the king who possesses the seven precious things and rules the four continents become completely victorious. How does one strive to give the jewel of the crown and the diadem completely? A son of good family, a Bodhisattva thinks thus: Giving the jewel of the crown and the diadem completely is a supreme expression for Bodhisattvas, as their crowns become invisible. I must give the jewel of the crown and the diadem completely. When he gives the jewel of the crown and the diadem, according to the aspiration spoken by the Thus-Gone One, by this giving of the jewel of the crown and the diadem, may I cause all sentient beings to attain the state where their crowns are invisible. Then he says this: By giving the jewel of the head and the diadem, whatever accumulation of merit I have, by that, may all sentient beings here always attain the state where the crown is invisible. By giving the jewel of the crown, may I be like the Nyagrodha tree, with a wide expanse of water, made of gold and jewels, may the crown be perfectly complete. How does one strive to give the feet? A son of good family, a Bodhisattva thinks thus: Giving the feet is a supreme expression for Bodhisattvas, as the feet of the Dharma go to the heart of Bodhi. I must give the feet. When he gives the feet, according to the aspiration attained by the Thus-Gone One, by this giving of the feet, may humans and all sentient beings always quickly renounce their homes and, in order to pacify the harm of birth, old age, sickness, and death, stretch out their limbs as desired, rejoice greatly, have subdued senses, be as peaceful as the light of the moon worthy of refuge, and like the sun manifesting various splendors, radiate rays of light born from compassion to the borders.
