It is called Nompa. It is called the one with non-objective wisdom, but in terms of ultimate truth, it is not as it is said. Then, the Blessed One gave the word "Good!" to Manjushri, who had become a youth. Good! Good! Manjushri, you have shown the actions and non-actions of the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas in a way that does not show them. This word is well spoken. Manjushri, it is like this: for example, a hungry person, weakened by hunger, would rather endure hunger than eat poisonous food out of ignorance. Manjushri, similarly, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva would rather have non-objective stinginess, bad conduct, harmful thoughts, laziness, forgetfulness, and lack of wisdom than have the practice of giving, discipline, patience, diligence, meditation, and wisdom with the mind of a Shravaka or Pratyekabuddha. Why is that? Because the fault of the poison of objectification arises, therefore one should know to fear it in conventional truth. Then, the son of the gods, Good Guardian, asked the Blessed One this: Blessed One, do Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas not fear afflictions? The Blessed One replied: Son of the gods, in conventional truth, Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas should fear afflictions. But they should fear the mind of Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas even more than that, but not afflictions. The son of the gods asked: Blessed One, why is that? The Blessed One replied: Son of the gods, I ask you, answer as you are able. Son of the gods, what do you think? Should a person who desires to live fear having a limb cut off? Or should they fear having their head cut off even more? The son of the gods replied: Blessed One, a person who has a limb cut off can still live, and one who desires merit, who properly takes and abides in the path of merit, that becomes a cause for being born in higher realms. Blessed One, one who has their head cut off completely loses their life, and one who seeks merit, who properly takes and practices the path of merit,

also cannot. The Blessed One said, "Son of the gods, it is so, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who does not focus is superior. If the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas who are attached to views fall into the teachings, possessing all the merits of learning and practice, it is not like that. A Bodhisattva Mahasattva who is stingy is superior. Completely abandoning all sentient beings and abandoning all the Buddha's teachings is not like that. A Bodhisattva Mahasattva who becomes of evil nature is superior. Not fully ripening all sentient beings is not like that. A Bodhisattva Mahasattva who practices on the ground of faith, who delights in non-attachment, and who is accompanied by afflictions is superior. If the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas who are attached to views attain certainty and are without afflictions, it is not like that." The son of the gods said, "Blessed One, the conduct of the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas, which is not in accordance with ordinary behavior, is inconsistent with all the world. Blessed One, because of the defilement of the poison of attachment, the discipline of the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas who are attached to views is the evil nature of the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas. To what extent is the diligence of the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas who are attached to views, due to the defilement of the poison of attachment, the laziness of the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas?" The Blessed One said, "Son of the gods, it is like this: for example, the food of a poor person is the poison of a Chakravartin king. Son of the gods, likewise, the discipline and diligence of the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas who are attached to views are the evil nature and laziness of the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas. Why is that? Because of the defilement of the poison of attachment. Son of the gods, it is like this: for example, the wealth of a person who works to accomplish his own tasks cannot provide happiness to all the people of a city. Son of the gods, likewise, the poverty of mind and inferiority of mind of the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas who are attached to views
