Wherever the Tathagata Samantabhadra's Buddha-field, the world, is not frowning, those Buddha-fields where such Bodhisattvas reside are very few. Then, the venerable Sharadvatiputra said to the Bodhisattva Akshayamati and those Bodhisattvas: "O noble ones, it is a great gain that you have seen the Bhagavan Tathagata Samantabhadra and those Bodhisattvas, and the world that does not frown!" Akshayamati said: "Venerable Sharadvatiputra, do you wish to see the world that does not frown, and the Bhagavan Tathagata Samantabhadra, and those lotus arrays, and those Bodhisattvas?" Sharadvatiputra said: "O son of good family, may this entire assembly be endowed with all qualities, and may the roots of virtue increase greatly, I shall see it." Then, at that time, the Bodhisattva Akshayamati entered into the Samadhi called 'Universally Showing All Buddha-fields'. O son of good family, as soon as he entered into that Samadhi, then the entire assembly, with the elder Sharadvatiputra, saw that world that does not frown, and the Bhagavan Tathagata Arhat Samyak-sambuddha Samantabhadra, and those lotus arrays, and those Bodhisattvas. Having seen them, they all rose from their respective seats, joined their palms, and paid homage to the Bhagavan Tathagata Arhat Samyak-sambuddha Samantabhadra and those Bodhisattvas. Then, by the power of the Buddha, and by the blessing of the Bodhisattva Akshayamati, in their right hands appeared garlands of flowers, never seen or heard before, exceedingly fragrant and various, beautiful to behold, colorful, and pleasing to the mind. They scattered those garlands of flowers towards the east, where the Bhagavan Tathagata Arhat Samyak-sambuddha Samantabhadra was. The flowers...

Those scattered flowers fell on that Buddha-field. Then, having scattered them upon the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha Samantabhadra and those Bodhisattvas, they caused that world to be completely filled with flowers. Those Bodhisattvas who dwelt in that world asked the Blessed One, the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha Samantabhadra: 'Lord, from where do these beautiful flowers rain down like this?' The Blessed One replied: 'Noble sons, this is the Bodhisattva Inexhaustible Intelligence, who, in order to behold, pay homage, make offerings, revere, and listen to the Dharma of the Blessed One Shakyamuni, went to the Buddha-field of the Blessed One Shakyamuni, the Sahā world. There, those Bodhisattvas who had gathered from the ten directions in that world scattered these flowers.' The Blessed One Tathagata Shakyamuni was also teaching a Dharma discourse called 'The Great Assembly,' and there, countless beings realized the Dharma. They asked: 'Lord, how far is this world where the Tathagata Shakyamuni resides from here?' The Blessed One replied: 'From this Buddha-field, to the west, passing through worlds as numerous as the atoms of dust equal to the sands of ten Ganges rivers, there is a world called Sahā. The Blessed One, the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha Shakyamuni now resides there, living, existing, and teaching the Dharma.' They asked: 'Lord, we wish to behold that Sahā world, and the Blessed One, the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha Shakyamuni, and those Bodhisattvas.' Then, at that time, the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha Samantabhadra emitted such light from his body, and that light illuminated

Having surpassed all those Buddha-fields, they showed this Saha world, as well as the Blessed One, the Tathagata Shakyamuni, and these Bodhisattvas, to their own Bodhisattvas. Having seen them, they all rose from their respective seats, folded their palms, prostrated to the Blessed One, the Tathagata Shakyamuni, and these Bodhisattvas, and spoke these words: "Blessed One, like this, in this world, there is not even a place to put the tip of a hair that is not filled with Bodhisattvas, so from where have so many Bodhisattvas gathered?" The Blessed One said: "Sons of good family, these Bodhisattvas have gathered from immeasurable Buddha-fields in the ten directions in order to listen to the Dharma." Then, the venerable Sharadvatiputra said this to the Bodhisattva Akshayamati: "Why, son of good family, is your name called Akshayamati?" Akshayamati said: "Venerable Sharadvatiputra, this which is called Akshayamati is because all dharmas are the cause of being without object. Why is that? Because all dharmas are inexhaustible." Sharadvatiputra said: "Son of good family, you have begun to explain the inexhaustible Dharma of the Bodhisattvas, be brave!" Akshayamati said: "Venerable Sharadvatiputra, the initial generation of the mind of the Bodhisattvas is also inexhaustible. Why is that? Because it is unmixed. That mind arises without being mixed with all afflictions. Because there is no desire for other vehicles, that mind arises unrelated. Because it is not stolen by all external opponents, that mind arises firmly. That mind arises without being divided by all demons. In order to perfectly accomplish all roots of virtue, that mind arises steadily. Because of clearly knowing that conditioned phenomena are impermanent, that mind arises permanently. Because of perfectly gathering all the Buddha's dharmas, that mind arises immovably. Because of being separated from all wrong views, that mind arises unconfusedly. Because it is unshakeable, that mind arises very firmly. Because there is no antidote, it is
