Generating the mind of enlightenment, and inwardly rejoicing in truly abiding, and contemplating the limbs of meditation, and generating love, and manifestly cultivating compassion, and focusing on joy, and meditating on equanimity, and the first dhyana, and the second dhyana, and the third dhyana, and the fourth dhyana, and the sphere of infinite space, and the sphere of infinite consciousness, and the sphere of nothingness, and the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception, and the nine successive attainments of cessation of perception and feeling, these are called tranquility. Thus, the collection of tranquility is immeasurable, and striving for those collections of tranquility is called inexhaustible tranquility. What, then, is the inexhaustible insight of the Bodhisattvas? It is the path of cultivation that accords with the aspect of wisdom, that is, knowing that all phenomena are unwavering, knowing that there is no self, knowing that there is no sentient being, knowing that there is no life, knowing that there is no nourishment, knowing that there is no person, and knowing that the aggregates are seen as illusions, and knowing that the elements are seen as poisonous snakes, and knowing that the sense bases are seen as empty villages, and knowing that the truths are seen as thoroughly understood, and knowing that dependent origination is seen as not contradictory, and knowing that all views are seen as separate, and knowing that causes and effects and ripening are seen as not wasted, and knowing that the attainment of fruit must be directly realized, and knowing that entering into reality is seen, this is called insight, and insight is seeing all phenomena truly. Seeing all phenomena as they are. Seeing all phenomena as suchness. Seeing all phenomena as non-otherness. Seeing all phenomena as emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness. Seeing all phenomena as not manifestly fabricated, and likewise, seeing them as unborn, unarisen, non-existent, as they are, pure, and solitary. Seeing all phenomena as unwavering, without an agent, without a master, without grasping, undifferentiated and of one taste, and like space.

The essence and nature, seeing it as nirvana. Vipaśyanā is named as neither seeing it as the aspect of existence, nor seeing it as the aspect of non-existence, not seeing it as the aspect of arising, ceasing, and abiding, nor seeing it as the aspect of object and sign, although seeing, yet seeing nothing. When one does not see, at that time one sees, and Vipaśyanā neither sees, nor does it see without seeing. When one sees in this way, at that time one sees reality. By seeing reality, one will attain proficiency in Vipaśyanā. Although the Bodhisattva sees in this way with Vipaśyanā, he neither clings to it nor falls into it, and he is not weary of clinging to the roots of virtue. This is called the inexhaustible Vipaśyanā of the Bodhisattvas. Venerable son of Śāradvatī, these are the inexhaustible Śamatha and Vipaśyanā of the Bodhisattvas. Venerable son of Śāradvatī, furthermore, the Bodhisattvas have inexhaustible Dhāraṇī and confidence. What is inexhaustible Dhāraṇī? Dhāraṇī is named as that which previously accumulated a collection of roots of virtue, holding eighty-four thousand aggregates of Dharma with mindfulness, holding all, not forgetting, and holding correctly with mindfulness, this is Dhāraṇī. Also, Dhāraṇī is named as that which holds all that is spoken by all the Buddhas, holds all that is spoken by all the Bodhisattvas, all the Pratyekabuddhas, all the Śrāvakas, and all sentient beings, and holds all well-spoken words without exception, this is Dhāraṇī. When one is reborn into another kalpa, or reborn into another life, the knowledge of mindfulness of that Bodhisattva's Dhāraṇī will not be exhausted, nor will it be forgotten, seeing all Dharmas with the eye of noble wisdom as if an Āmalaka fruit were in the palm of one's hand, this is called inexhaustible Dhāraṇī. What is inexhaustible confidence? Confidence is named as this unobstructed confidence, uninterrupted confidence, unseizable confidence, and undeluded confidence, and
