Approaching and abiding in action, this is called consciousness. Then, what is wisdom? It is the complete knowledge of the aggregate of consciousness that abides in the four aggregates, this is called wisdom. Furthermore, consciousness is the knowledge of the earth element, the water element, the fire element, and the wind element, this is called consciousness. Knowing the consciousness that abides in these four elements, and knowing that the realm of phenomena is inseparable, this is called wisdom. Furthermore, consciousness is the distinguishing of forms that can be known by the eye, similarly, sounds that can be known by the ear, smells that can be known by the nose, tastes that can be known by the tongue, touches that can be known by the body, and phenomena that can be known by the mind, this is called consciousness. Whatever is inwardly peaceful, does not flow outward, and relying on wisdom, does not discriminate or differentiate any phenomena, this is called wisdom. Furthermore, consciousness arises from an object, consciousness arises from attention, and consciousness arises from complete discrimination, this is called consciousness. Whatever is without grasping, without extreme grasping, without an object, without discrimination, and without conceptualization, this is called wisdom. Furthermore, consciousness arises for conditioned and flowing phenomena, but consciousness does not flow for the unconditioned. Knowing the unconditioned, that is wisdom. Furthermore, abiding in arising and ceasing is consciousness. Abiding in non-arising and non-ceasing is wisdom, this is called relying on wisdom and not relying on consciousness. Then, what is a sutra of definitive meaning? What is a sutra of provisional meaning? Those sutras that are taught for the purpose of entering the path are called provisional meaning. Those sutras that are taught for the purpose of entering the fruit are called definitive meaning. Those sutras that are taught for the purpose of establishing conventional truth are called provisional meaning. Those sutras that are taught for the purpose of establishing ultimate truth are

It is called requiring interpretation. Those sutras that explain engaging in actions and deeds are called provisional meaning. Those sutras that are taught for the purpose of exhausting actions and afflictions are called definitive meaning. Those sutras that are taught for the purpose of explaining all afflictions are called provisional meaning. Those sutras that are taught for the purpose of making them completely pure are called definitive meaning. Those sutras that teach to renounce samsara are called provisional meaning. Those sutras that teach to enter into the non-duality of samsara and nirvana are called definitive meaning. Those sutras that teach various words and letters are called provisional meaning. Those sutras that teach that which is profound, difficult to see, and difficult to understand are called definitive meaning. Those sutras that have many words and letters and are taught for the purpose of making sentient beings' minds happy are called provisional meaning. Those sutras that have few words and letters and are taught to make sentient beings' minds definitely think are called definitive meaning. Those sutras that explain in various ways "I," sentient beings, life, nourishment, individuals, persons, those born of strength, those who have strength, doers, feelers, and those that teach that what is ownerless has an owner are called provisional meaning. Those sutras that teach emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, non-fabrication, unborn, unarisen, non-entity, selflessness, no sentient beings, no life, no person, no owner, and up to the door of liberation are called definitive meaning, therefore it is called relying on sutras of definitive meaning and not relying on sutras of provisional meaning. What is the nature of dharma? What is a person? Whoever abides in viewing things as a person and engages in certain dharmas is called a person. Whoever fully understands the actions of viewing things as a person is called the nature of dharma. Furthermore, the person of ordinary beings and the virtue of ordinary beings
