The characteristic of the dharma-sphere is not that of hearing. The dharma-sphere is the nose-sphere, but the characteristic of the dharma-sphere is not that of smelling. The dharma-sphere is the tongue-sphere, but the characteristic of the dharma-sphere is not that of tasting. The dharma-sphere is the body-sphere, but the characteristic of the dharma-sphere is not that of touching. The dharma-sphere is the mind-sphere, but the characteristic of the dharma-sphere is not that of distinguishing dharmas. The dharma-sphere is the form-sphere, but the characteristic of the dharma-sphere is not that which is distinguished by eye-consciousness. The dharma-sphere is the sound-sphere, but the characteristic of the dharma-sphere is not that which is distinguished by ear-consciousness. The dharma-sphere is the odor-sphere, but the characteristic of the dharma-sphere is not that which is distinguished by nose-consciousness. The dharma-sphere is the flavor-sphere, but the characteristic of the dharma-sphere is not that which is distinguished by tongue-consciousness. The dharma-sphere is the touch-sphere, but the characteristic of the dharma-sphere is not that which is distinguished by body-consciousness. The dharma-sphere is the dharma-sphere, but the characteristic of the dharma-sphere is not that which is distinguished by mind-consciousness; this is called a bodhisattva's skill in the spheres. Furthermore, skill in the spheres is this: the eye-sphere is empty of self and what belongs to self. Likewise, the ear-sphere, the nose-sphere, the tongue-sphere, the body-sphere, the mind-sphere, the form-sphere, the sound-sphere, the odor-sphere, the flavor-sphere, the touch-sphere, and the dharma-sphere are also empty of self and what belongs to self. As the Bhagavan said: "The eye is empty of self and what belongs to self; this is its nature." Likewise, the ear, the nose, the tongue, the body, and the mind are empty of self and what belongs to self; this

is its nature. Similarly, form, sound, smell, taste, touch, and dharmas are empty of self and selflessness, which is said to be its nature. Thus, not clinging to the aggregates as aggregates, not accumulating virtuous dharmas, not diminishing non-virtuous dharmas, and not developing dualistic notions of virtue and non-virtue, this is the bodhisattva's skill in the aggregates. Furthermore, skill in the aggregates means that the object and basis of attachment for the eye aggregate is the form aggregate. If one sees the eye and form as separate from attachment and does not manifest the dharma of being free from attachment, this is called the bodhisattva's skill in the aggregates. Similarly, the sound aggregate for the ear aggregate, the smell aggregate for the nose aggregate, the taste aggregate for the tongue aggregate, the touch aggregate for the body aggregate, and the object and basis of attachment for the mind aggregate is the dharma aggregate. If one sees the mind and dharma as separate from attachment and does not manifest the dharma of being free from attachment, this is called the bodhisattva's skill in the aggregates. The aggregates are called noble aggregates and non-noble aggregates. Among them, the noble aggregate is the correct practice of the path. The non-noble aggregate is that which is not in accordance with the path. When a bodhisattva abides in the path, generates great compassion for sentient beings who engage in what is not in accordance with the path, and does not abandon the aggregate of the path, this is called the bodhisattva's skill in the aggregates. Then, what is the bodhisattva's skill in the truth? The four entries are the bodhisattva's skill in the truth. What are the four entries? They are knowing suffering, knowing the origin, knowing cessation, and knowing the path. Among them, knowing suffering means knowing that the aggregates do not arise. Knowing the origin means knowing the complete destruction of craving. Knowing cessation means that ignorance and latent tendencies do not arise.
