If one fully understands all dharmas, one will not see all dharmas as having a single nature or different natures. One will not see dharmas and dharmas as being together or separate. One will not see dharmas residing in dharmas. If one understands in this way, one will not see all dharmas as coming from elsewhere. One will also not see that there is a place where all dharmas reside. Why is that? Because all dharmas have no place, no support, and no arising. All dharmas have no place because the absence of support is the reason for the absence of place. Because there is no place for an object of focus. The reason why all dharmas that maintain the world have no distinctions is that all dharmas have no characteristics that differentiate them. Although there may be inverted actions arising from many causes, all dharmas do not abide in a place, nor do they abide in a direction. The wise do not perceive all dharmas as having one characteristic, nor as having two characteristics, nor as having different characteristics. Why is that? Because all dharmas that maintain the world are unborn, unmade, unarisen, and uncreated. All dharmas are devoid of inherent existence and are without essence, because they transcend inherent existence. All dharmas have no place because there is no place to go. When one thoroughly contemplates all dharmas in this way, one will fully comprehend and realize that all dharmas are without self and without person. One will realize that all dharmas are empty of inherent existence. Because one realizes that all dharmas are empty, one realizes that all dharmas are without characteristics. Because one observes without characteristics, attachment to all dharmas does not arise. At that time, because one realizes that all dharmas are unborn, one thinks to oneself, "In this, there is no dharma that truly arises or ceases." When one understands in this way, the mind abides in one-pointedness, and therefore, one comprehends that all dharmas are unborn, and one also sees and knows that the origin and cessation of all dharmas are exhausted. One also realizes that all dharmas are devoid of characteristics and devoid of inherent existence. Why is that? Because all dharmas that maintain the world have no definite characteristics, therefore one comprehends that all dharmas are without characteristics and are devoid of characteristics. Maintaining the world, in this way, when Bodhisattva Mahasattvas practice according to the Dharma,

It is called "attainment." Understanding in this way means not fixating on the Dharma, not grasping, not causing the Dharma to arise, not abiding, not ceasing, but being diligent. By this, one also sees the nature of non-cessation and the nature of complete pacification of all Dharmas. Holder of the World, these Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas are said to be extremely knowledgeable about the four mindfulnesses, hence "knowledgeable." Why is it called "mindfulness"? Mindfulness means that all Dharmas have no place of destruction, no place of arising, no place of abiding. If one practices in this way, the memory of all Dharmas is not lost, hence it is called mindfulness. Furthermore, all Dharmas of mindfulness are non-abiding, unborn, and ungrasping. Knowing and seeing them as they truly are is the meaning of mindfulness. The sixth chapter on mindfulness is complete. Holder of the World, how are Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas skilled in the faculties? Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas truly realize the five transcendental faculties. What are the five? They are: the faculty of faith, the faculty of diligence, the faculty of mindfulness, the faculty of samadhi, and the faculty of wisdom. When Bodhisattvas practice these five faculties in yoga, they believe that all Dharmas arise from dependent origination, arise from inversion, and are assembled from unreal causes, like a whirling firebrand or like the nature of a dream. They believe that all Dharmas are impermanent, suffering, impure, selfless, like a thorn, like a boil, without essence, unstable, and of the nature of change and destruction. Furthermore, they believe that all Dharmas are non-existent because they are unreal, like an empty fist, or like deceiving a young child with various bright colors, arising only from conceptualization, existing only in dependence, so that not even a single atom exists in truly existing Dharmas. Furthermore, they believe that all Dharmas are neither past, nor future, nor present.
