It is called mind because of various conditions of cognition. It is called mind because it arises and ceases moment by moment, accumulated by one, and the continuity is uninterrupted. This is so that each individual can understand and realize the nature of the mind that is unobtainable. The mind does not have the nature of mind. This mind is unborn from the beginning, unarisen, and naturally pure. Even if it is completely afflicted by sudden afflictions, the mind does not know the mind, and the mind does not see the mind. Why is that? Because this mind is emptiness, and because it is emptiness, it is without self-nature. This mind is not of a definite nature, because there is no definite dharma to be clung to. This mind does not have the dharma of one and different. This mind has no prior limit to be found, nor a later limit to be found, nor an intermediate limit to be found. This mind is formless, because it cannot be seen, so the mind itself cannot see the mind, nor know its own nature. Deluded individuals arise because they possess inversion, due to unreal causes and the object of discriminating consciousness. This mind is emptiness, selfless, without mine, impermanent, unstable, without essence, and not of an unchanging nature. Now, when thinking and paying attention, one obtains the mindfulness of mind. At that time, that person does not discriminate mind or non-mind, because he knows well the nature of the unborn mind, so he also realizes the unborn nature of mind. Why is that? Because the mind has no definite nature, because it has no definite nature. The wise thus understand and realize the unborn and natureless nature of mind. At that time, one realizes the nature of the assembly and cessation of mind as it is. When one realizes in this way, one does not find the nature of arising or ceasing in the mind. Without clinging to cessation or non-cessation in the mind, one will obtain the nature of suchness, the pure nature of mind. Bodhisattvas, with such a pure mind, will not be afflicted by sudden afflictions. Why is that?

If asked, bodhisattvas, because they know and see that their own minds are completely pure, think that the minds of sentient beings are also completely pure. Because the mind has defilements, they think that if the mind is completely pure, then sentient beings are also completely pure, and when they contemplate in their minds, they do not fixate on the characteristics of defilements on the mind, or the characteristics of complete purity on the mind, but know that the mind itself is always the characteristic of complete purity. Worldly Protector Bodhisattva Mahasattva, for those who practice yoga in accordance with the Dharma, if asked, bodhisattvas do not think that all dharmas exist within, outside, or in between. Furthermore, they do not fixate on the past, future, or present dharmas, because all dharmas arise from many causes and conditions, and arise from inversion, without a definite nature. For example, all dharmas, so-called "Person Empowerment" and "the nature of Dharma," for all dharmas, there is no so-called "Dharma," because dharmas do not abide within dharmas, do not abide outside dharmas, and do not abide in between. Dharma is neither together with Dharma, nor separate from it, all dharmas are without substance, without a definite nature. Because all dharmas are not existent, there is no movement, no action. All dharmas are like the sky, nothing at all. All dharmas are of the nature of deception, like illusions. Because the characteristics of illusions are invisible. All dharmas are completely pure, because they are not stained by anything. All dharmas are of the nature of non-acceptance, because there is no acceptance. All dharmas are like dreams, because dreams themselves do not exist. All dharmas are without form, because there is no form at all. All dharmas are like reflections, because reflections themselves do not exist. All dharmas are without name and without characteristics, because there are no names and characteristics. All dharmas are like echoes, because they arise from untruth and therefore there is nothing. All dharmas are without essence, because essence is invisible. All dharmas are like mirages, because they know that there is nothing. Bodhisattvas thus observe all dharmas.
