If not, then from the cause of having reversal, the dharmas of hearing, seeing, feeling, and knowing arise, therefore there is no correct consciousness in that. Because one does not realize as it is, sometimes a virtuous consciousness arises, sometimes a non-virtuous consciousness arises, and sometimes a virtuous and non-virtuous consciousness arises. Although that person constantly follows consciousness, he does not know the place where consciousness arises, and he does not know the true characteristics of consciousness. World Holder Bodhisattva Mahasattvas realize that as it is, therefore they realize that the aggregate of consciousness arises from incorrect consciousness. For example, the dharmas of seeing, hearing, feeling, and knowing are known to arise from many causes and conditions. Because one perceives non-dharma as dharma, it becomes the aggregate of consciousness. We should not imitate foolish ordinary people, we should examine the true discernment of consciousness, and we should also examine that aggregate of consciousness as it is. When Bodhisattvas realize as it is, they know that the aggregate of consciousness is unreal and reversed, and they know it as the nature of being born from the beginning. Non-aggregate is the aggregate of consciousness, the aggregate of images is the aggregate of consciousness, the aggregate of illusion is the aggregate of consciousness. For example, if a magician conjures up an illusory person, that person's consciousness neither exists within, nor exists without, nor exists between the two, the nature of consciousness is also the same as this, it arises from many unreal causes and conditions and conceptual thoughts, and there is no real entity. Like a person in a turning wheel, consciousness is also the same as this, it arises from the aggregation of reversal and many unreal causes and conditions. When one realizes in this way, one knows that consciousness is impermanent, suffering, impure, and selfless. The characteristics of consciousness

And knowing oneself to be like an illusion, and realizing the nature of consciousness to be like an illusion. The Bodhisattva then thought thus: These worlds are extremely intoxicated and blinded by ignorance. For example, the world arises from the discriminating consciousness, and because of the aggregation of mind, intellect, and consciousness, therefore the three realms are merely consciousness. Thus, the consciousness of mind and intellect is without form, without direction, does not abide within the Dharma, and does not abide outside the Dharma. Ordinary people are bound because they possess non-reality, therefore they cling to the aggregate of consciousness as self and as belonging to self, and are attached. That person clings to the aggregate of consciousness as dwelling within, clings to the aggregate of consciousness as dwelling without, clings to the aggregate of consciousness as dwelling in both within and without, clings to the aggregate of consciousness as dwelling in self and other. That person clings to the aggregate of consciousness as primary. Because of the bondage of consciousness, being attached to the taste of the aggregate of consciousness, they also proclaim the characteristics of the aggregate of consciousness. For example, because of following after mind, intellect, and consciousness, being attached to its taste, therefore they are attached to and cling to the aggregate of consciousness. That person is bound by consciousness, and because of being connected with that aggregate of consciousness, mind and intellect also come under the control of consciousness, and mind and intellect also, by the power of the cause and condition of consciousness, are born as ordinary people. If an inferior thought arises, then an inferior body will be obtained. If a superior thought arises, then a superior body will be obtained. If a middling thought arises, then a middling body will be obtained. That person, by the power of acting after mind, intellect, and consciousness, is born relying and dwelling in the various sense bases. Because of attachment to the aggregate of consciousness, one is not liberated from birth, old age, sickness, death, sorrow, lamentation, and suffering. The Bodhisattva realizes that aggregate of consciousness as it truly is, and realizes the name of the aggregate of consciousness as it truly is.
