Because there is no door, one enters through this door. Sons of good family, for all dharmas, there is neither entering nor arising, nor form. Why is that? If the Tathagata has no attachment to any dharma, then from where does it arise? Where does it enter? What does it indicate? What will it show? Sons of good family, that is entering the door of all dharmas, because it is the characteristic of non-entering. All dharmas neither gather nor separate, neither bind nor liberate. Thus, for the door of all dharmas, because there is no door, this door is not the door of arising, not the door of entering, not the door of going, not the door of speaking, it is called the door of ultimate non-arising. By the door of dharma, there is no knowing, no seeing for all dharmas. This door of dharma has neither awareness nor entering for dharma. Why is that? Sons of good family, there is no door for all dharmas, because there is no attachment to the door. Space is the door of all dharmas, because it is primordially and naturally pure. Non-cessation is the door of all dharmas, because there is no attachment to cessation. Boundlessness is the door of all dharmas, because there is no attachment to the end. Immeasurability is the door of all dharmas, because there is no attachment to measure. Infinity is the door of all dharmas, because there is no attachment to infinity. Sons of good family, any son or daughter of good family who enters this door of dharma is said to have entered the door of all dharmas, knows the door of all dharmas, and shows the door of all dharmas. The introductory chapter, this is the first (chapter). Then, the Bhagavan spoke these words to the Bodhisattva Holder of the World: Holder of the World, any Bodhisattva Mahasattva who wishes to obtain the true characteristic of all dharmas, who wishes to be skilled in the characteristic of distinguishing dharmas, who wishes to obtain the power of mindfulness, who wishes to obtain the wisdom of distinguishing all dharmas, and who wishes to obtain uninterrupted mindfulness from the time of abandoning this body until the time of attaining unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, (should practice) the Dharma.

One should quickly enter this gate. Through this Dharma gate, the light of wisdom will be obtained. Why is that? Because through this Dharma gate, one can quickly attain perfection. Furthermore, Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas who uphold the world should diligently strive in this Dharma gate. Whoever enters the gate that is in accordance with the Dharma is in accordance with the skandhas, in accordance with the realms, in accordance with the sense bases, in accordance with the Dharma of dependent origination, in accordance with the four mindfulnesses, in accordance with the five faculties, in accordance with the eightfold noble path, and is very skilled in distinguishing between worldly and transmundane Dharmas. Furthermore, one will become very skilled in distinguishing between conditioned and unconditioned Dharmas. Upholder of the world, how can a Bodhisattva be skilled in distinguishing what is in accordance with the five skandhas? Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas correctly contemplate the five aggregates of clinging, like this: the aggregate of ignorance is the aggregate of clinging. The aggregate of suffering is the aggregate of clinging. The aggregate of delusion is the aggregate of clinging. The aggregate of disease, the aggregate of boils, and the aggregate of pain are the five aggregates of clinging. Bodhisattvas should examine the discrimination of the form aggregate of clinging. How should one examine the discrimination of the form aggregate of clinging? That form aggregate of clinging arises from the four great elements, and is merely labeled as the form aggregate of clinging. The form aggregate has no inherent nature; it is merely the aggregation of the four great elements, so it is merely labeled as the form aggregate. The form aggregate is unmade, without a maker, without an act, without arising. The so-called form aggregate is merely labeled as the form aggregate from the cause of previous karma, conditions, and the aggregation of the four great elements, but it is not a real aggregate; that is the form aggregate. For example, it is like the aggregate of space, without the characteristic of truly arising. Whoever

That which is called the heap of space, because no dharma arises from it, it is merely a name, therefore it is called the heap of space. Ordinary beings, with a mind of perversion, grasp as true that which has no heap and no characteristic of a heap, thinking, "I am the five heaps," "Mine are the five heaps," "I am the heap of form," "Mine is the heap of form," and they cling to it in that way. Thus, ordinary beings cling to form, thinking of form as self, as mine, as existing, grasping at form, taking form, and clinging to form, dwelling in form and relying on it, and thus engaging in and experiencing various kinds of sinful and unwholesome actions. We, who follow the example of ordinary beings, should exert ourselves and diligently cultivate the dharmas of the path to enlightenment. It is proper to examine the heap of form as it truly is. When bodhisattvas examine the heap as it truly is, they know it to be like a water bubble. How is it known to be like a water bubble? The absence of a bubble is a water bubble, which arises only from many causes and cannot be grasped or held. Because it has no solidity or essence, the water bubble has no characteristic of a bubble. Just as the absence of a bubble is called a water bubble, so too is the heap of form, the heap of form has no characteristic of a heap. When bodhisattvas contemplate in this way, they think, "Ordinary beings do not truly contemplate form, which is not real. They do not truly know that form is impermanent. They do not truly know the characteristic of form." Since we have entered the true path, we should not cling to form, which is not real. Why is that? Because form is not a characteristic to be clung to, it is merely a name, and has no definite characteristic. Therefore, form has no definite characteristic and is separate from name, and therefore it is called form. Furthermore, form is the characteristic of destruction, and the wise have understood that it is without characteristics.
