He does not hinder, does not enjoy what is not taught, and appears to all sentient beings. He possesses this power of appearance, and when he attains enlightenment, he truly knows the knowledge of the divine eye as it is, this is the ninth power of the Tathagata. Daughter, furthermore, when a Bodhisattva practices the conduct of a Bodhisattva, he does not abide for the sake of increasing the defilements of any sentient being, but teaches the Dharma to sentient beings in order to exhaust defilements; not for the sake of increasing defilements, but shows the near path to sentient beings by the path of no defilements. He possesses the power of faith in no defilements, and when he attains enlightenment, he truly knows that all defilements are exhausted, this is the tenth power of the Tathagata. Daughter, these are the ten powers of the Tathagata, and when the Bodhisattvas perfect these, they will become Tathagatas with ten powers. Daughter, therefore, having heard these excellent distinctions of the ten powers of the Tathagata, Bodhisattvas should by all means engage in roots of virtue in order to perfect these ten powers of the Tathagata. World-Honored One, the daughter Jewel also asked the World-Honored One, saying: World-Honored One, how does a Bodhisattva attain the four fearlessnesses and the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha when he possesses these four fearlessnesses and eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha? The World-Honored One replied: Daughter, here, when a Bodhisattva practices the conduct of a Bodhisattva, he should not think, "Do not let others know," and not hide the teacher or the Dharma, and have equanimity towards all sentient beings. He completely gives away all possessions and sees the Dharma as equal. He is free from the thought of difference. When he attains enlightenment, he truly roars the lion's roar, vowing, "I have attained perfect and complete enlightenment," if anyone—whether a Shramana, a Brahmin, a god, a demon, a Brahma, or anyone in the world who is in accordance with the Dharma—can refute me with such a Dharma,

No, it is not seen as it truly is. Because the mark is not seen as it truly is, the Thus-gone One has attained bliss, has attained fearlessness, and has attained non-fear. In the assembly, he truly roars the lion's roar, and in the place of the supreme host, he makes a vow: "Whether it be a renunciate, or a Brahmin, or a god, or a demon, or Brahma, or anyone, none can turn the wheel of Brahma that I have turned in accordance with the Dharma in the world." This, daughter, is the first fearlessness of the Thus-gone One. Daughter, furthermore, when a Bodhisattva practices the conduct of a Bodhisattva, he thoroughly knows the obstructing Dharmas as they truly are with respect to obstruction. He does not show those obstructing Dharmas, does not enter into them, does not practice them, nor does he explain them to others, nor does he point them out. Having known them as obstructing Dharmas, he abandons them. When he attains enlightenment, he roars the lion's roar: "There is no basis for saying that relying on those Dharmas that I have spoken of as obstructing Dharmas is not an obstruction." Here, who will oppose me? As before, this is the second fearlessness. Daughter, furthermore, when a Bodhisattva practices the conduct of a Bodhisattva, he constantly and continuously delights in white Dharmas, enters the path of purification, and teaches the Dharma of purification to all sentient beings. The nature of qualities is manifest. With whatever collection of limbs one might suppress the path of purification, making it impure, I also practice those collections of limbs, and I also show them to other sentient beings. When he attains enlightenment, he roars the lion's roar: "There is no basis for saying that relying on those Dharmas that I have spoken of as pure Dharmas is not purification." Here, who will oppose me? As before, this is the third fearlessness. Daughter, furthermore, when a Bodhisattva practices the conduct of a Bodhisattva, he never falls into the arrogance of thinking, "I know and I see, but others do not know and do not see." He constantly and continuously cultivates wisdom, free from arrogance and severing sins. He
