It is not reasonable. Then, the Brahma of Net Light, transformed into a youth, said in his mind: Brahma, may this assembly of five hundred monks rise from their seats and ensure that these fallen ones enter the Dharma and Vinaya, rejoice, and be liberated from sinful views. He said: Son of good family, it depends on intention. It depends on intention. Even if Buddha-fields were to fall like the sands of the Ganges, one could not escape this teaching. Son of good family, for example, a person with a childish nature is afraid of the sky and runs away, but wherever he goes, he sees the sky. Similarly, no matter how far these monks go, they cannot transcend the nature of emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness. For example, another person wants to find the sky, so he searches for the sky, running in all directions, but no matter how he calls it by the name of sky, he cannot find it. Even if he walks in the sky itself, he does not see it. Why is that? Because what is called sky is just a name. Son of good family, similarly, these monks also seek Nirvana as something real, but even if they practice in Nirvana, they do not see it and cannot understand it. Why is that? Son of good family, what is called Nirvana is just a name. Just as the sky is called sky but cannot be grasped, so Nirvana is called Nirvana but cannot be grasped. Then, the five hundred monks, having heard this explanation, their minds were liberated from the outflows, and those who had attained clairvoyance spoke these words: Blessed One, those who seek Nirvana as something real in all dharmas that are completely extinguished in Nirvana will not have the arising of a Buddha. Blessed One, we are neither ordinary beings, nor learners, nor Arhats, nor those subject to cyclic existence, nor those subject to Nirvana. Why is that? Blessed One, the arising of a Buddha is the doer, the mind, the movement, and all elaboration.

There was not all. Then, the venerable Shariputra said to those monks: Venerable ones, you have comprehended the essence of practice, and have accomplished your own purpose. They replied: Venerable Shariputra, we have comprehended all the defilements, and have done what should not be done. Shariputra said: Venerable ones, based on what thought do you say that? They replied: Venerable Shariputra, it is for the sake of completely understanding all defilements that we practice. Venerable Shariputra, what should not be done is Nirvana, considering this, we have comprehended all the defilements, and have done what should not be done. Shariputra said: Venerable ones, well done, well done! Venerable ones, you are those who abide in the place of giving. They replied: Venerable Shariputra, if the teacher himself does not practice giving, how can we practice? (Shariputra) asked: Why do you say that? (They replied:) Venerable Shariputra, because the Tathagata completely knows the realm of Dharma by its own nature. Then, Brahma Superior Mind addressed the Blessed One with these words: Blessed One, who are the places of giving? The Blessed One replied: Brahma, those who are not robbed by the worldly dharmas. Asked: Who are those who practice giving in the world? Replied: Those who do not completely cling to any dharma. Asked: Who are the fields of merit in the world? Replied: Those who do not abandon the mind of enlightenment. Asked: Who is the virtuous friend? Replied: Those who do not completely abandon love for all sentient beings. Asked: Who are those who repay the kindness to the Tathagata? Replied: Those who do not cut off the lineage of the Buddha. Asked: Who are those who make offerings to the Tathagata? Replied: Those who realize the limit of non-arising. Asked: Who are those who are close to the Tathagata? Replied: Those who do not break their vows even for the sake of their lives. Asked: Who are those who have the image of the Tathagata? Replied: Those who have subdued their senses,
