Thus he spoke. Brahma, have you seen this irreversible son of the gods? He replied: Blessed One, I have seen him. The Blessed One said: Brahma, this irreversible son of the gods, after thirty-two hundred thousand kotis of kalpas, in the world-realm called Excellent Transformation, in the kalpa praised by Brahma, will manifestly awaken to unsurpassed and perfect complete enlightenment. That is, the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened One, endowed with knowledge and conduct, the Sugata, Knower of the World, Unsurpassed One, Tamer of Beings, Teacher of Gods and Humans, Buddha, Blessed One, named King of the Lamp of Mount Meru, will appear in the world. That Buddha-field will be made of lapis lazuli, Jambu River gold, and two kinds of jewels. His bodhisattva sangha will appear uniquely, subduing the maras and opponents, all of them being heroes. In that Buddha-field, food and drink will be obtained merely by thought, and it will be like the enjoyment of Tushita. That Tathagata will teach immeasurable and unfailing Dharma. Superior Mind said: Son of the gods, you have been prophesied by the Tathagata. He said: Brahma, I have been prophesied as is reality and as is the realm of Dharma. He said: Son of the gods, reality and the realm of Dharma are not prophesied. He said: Just as reality and the realm of Dharma are not prophesied, so should the prophecy of all bodhisattvas be viewed. He said: Son of the gods, since you have now been prophesied by the Tathagata in this way, your previous dwelling in pure conduct in the presence of all the perfectly awakened Buddhas is not meaningless. He said: Brahma, that which is without dwelling is dwelling in pure conduct. He said: Son of the gods, thus, that which has no dwelling is dwelling in pure conduct. He said: Brahma, that which does not dwell in the three realms is dwelling in pure conduct. Brahma, that which dwells in the three realms is not dwelling in pure conduct. Furthermore,

O Brahma, who does not abide in self! Not abiding in sentient beings, life, and individuals, that is abiding in Brahmacharya. In short, Brahma who does not abide in all dharmas, that is abiding in Brahmacharya. Said: Son of the gods, what is the term for abiding in Brahmacharya? Said: Abiding in Brahmacharya is the term for abiding in the non-dual path. Said: Son of the gods, abiding in the path, what is it abiding in? Said: Brahma, abiding in the path, is the term for not abiding in all dharmas. Why? Because not abiding and not taking, that is abiding in the path. Said: Son of the gods, how does one meditate to meditate on the path? Said: Brahma, in any case, not falling into being and non-being, and not making any dharma into being, nor making it into non-being, that is meditation. Meditating in this way is striving to meditate on the path. Said: Son of the gods, with what should one meditate on the path? Said: Brahma, not by seeing, not by hearing, not by remembering, not by discriminating consciousness, not by obtaining, not by realizing, not meditating on all dharmas, that is meditating on the path. Said: Son of the gods, how is a Bodhisattva said to have donned the strong armor of diligence? Said: Brahma, a Bodhisattva who does not truly see any dharma as one or different, that is called a Bodhisattva who has donned the strong armor of diligence. Because the realm of dharma is not confused, therefore one does not separate or combine any dharma. Apart from the realm of dharma, not seeing any defilement and purification, that is the supreme effort of a Bodhisattva's diligence. Not abandoning or establishing anything in all dharmas, that is diligence. Brahma, not having the actions of body, speech, and mind, that is diligence. Then, the Bhagavan gave the son of the gods who does not regress the word "well done" and spoke to Brahma's special mind: Brahma, what this son of the gods is showing is just so. This is the supreme effort of his diligence.

. That which has no composition of body, no composition of speech, and no composition of mind, this is the supreme composition of diligence. Brahma, I have realized that although I have made diligent efforts to fully acquire all the diminished qualities and resources of past times, those Tathagatas did not predict me for unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment. Similarly, although I have made diligent efforts to attend to the lamas, to perform services, to dwell in monasteries, to listen extensively, and to inquire about the activities of sentient beings, I have not been predicted. Why is that? It is because I was dwelling excessively in the compositions of body, speech, and mind. Brahma, when I possessed such diligence as taught by this son of the gods, then the Tathagata Dipankara predicted that I, a Brahmin boy, would become the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Enlightened Buddha named Shakyamuni in the future. Brahma, therefore, one who desires to quickly attain the ground of prediction of a Bodhisattva should engage in such diligence, namely, the diligence of non-composition in all dharmas. Question: Blessed One, what is that diligence without composition? Answer: Brahma, it is the diligence of engaging in the equality of the three times. Question: Blessed One, what is the diligence of engaging in the equality of the three times? Answer: It is like this: the past mind is exhausted, the future has not come, and the present arising has no abiding place and is not perceived. That which is exhausted is imperceptible. That which has not come is the nature of non-arising. Similarly, that which is presently arising does not abide by its own nature. That which is nature is also unborn. That which is unborn is neither past, nor future, nor present. That which is neither past, nor future, nor present is self-nature. That which is self-nature is unborn. Brahma, such diligence of engaging in the equality of the three times is the pred
