Who among the gods said they saw what had not been seen before? All childish beings have seen the noble entry into what had not been seen before. When does Brahma correctly enter into reality, that is seeing what has not been seen before. That reality is not known by eye consciousness, nor is it to be known by ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind consciousness, but one must look at reality as it is. Look at the reality of the eye as it is, look at the reality of the ear as it is, look at the reality of the nose as it is, look at the reality of the tongue as it is, look at the reality of the body as it is, look at the reality of the mind as it is, and whoever sees in that way, sees correctly. Then, the lord of the gods, Indra, said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, just as a caravan leader who has gone to the island of jewels, before his eyes there are only jewels. Similarly, Blessed One, whatever the noble beings who possess inconceivable jewels of Dharma boast of, they all boast of the jewel of Dharma itself. They boast of fully clarifying the ultimate boundary of truth. Like this, for them, there is no attachment to self, no attachment to Dharma, and no attachment to sentient beings. Therefore, how they boast without reversing or erring, they boast in that way. How they neither cling to the previous limit, nor observe the later limit, and do not have such a view of what is happening now, they boast in that way. How they make those who do not believe believe, and also liberate those who believe, they boast in that way. Those who are arrogant will also be subdued, and those who are not arrogant will seek everything and respond, they boast in that way. How they do not give the demons a chance to find fault, they boast in that way. Those who listen in that way will also transcend the actions of the demons. How they cause those who have not generated roots of virtue to generate them, and those who have generated roots of virtue not to decline, abandon the afflictions that have arisen, and not generate those that have not arisen, they boast in that way.

Those who have not been allotted armor seek armor, and those who have been allotted armor will not retreat, thus it is proclaimed. As the sacred Dharma is not expounded, but the sacred Dharma is fully embraced, thus it is proclaimed. As all the Buddha's teachings become completely perfect, thus it is proclaimed. Blessed One, with such proclamation, one is able to destroy all the abodes of the heretics. Why is that? Blessed One, if even the sound of 'va' (藏文:ཝ་) cannot be endured by a lion, how could one endure a loud proclamation? Blessed One, similarly, all other adversaries cannot endure the unsurpassed lion's roar. Then, the non-returning son of the gods said to Indra, the lord of the gods: Kauśika (藏文,梵文天城体:कौशिक,梵文罗马拟音:kauśika,汉语字面意思: कौशिका), lion's roar, lion's roar, by how much is it called a lion's roar? He replied: Son of the gods, those who speak without attachment to any Dharma, those are the lion's roar. Those who speak with attachment to such things, those are not the lion's roar, but the sound of 'va'. Those who show the arising of all views, those do not have the lion's roar. Indra, the lord of the gods, said: Son of the gods, how do you proclaim the lion's roar? He replied: Kauśika (藏文,梵文天城体:कौशिक,梵文罗马拟音:kauśika,汉语字面意思: कौशिका), if one shows without attachment even to the Tathagata, what need is there to mention other evil Dharmas? Therefore, it is called the lion's roar. True diligence is the lion's roar, therefore it is called the lion's roar. This is shown with one point, therefore it is called the lion's roar. This is shown without fear, therefore it is called the lion's roar. Kauśika (藏文,梵文天城体:कौशिक,梵文罗马拟音:kauśika,汉语字面意思: कौशिका), those who teach the Dharma for the sake of meditating that all Dharmas are unborn, unceasing, and unattainable, those are the lion's roar. Those who teach the Dharma for the sake of universal defilement, complete purification, universal union, and separation, those do not have the lion's roar. Kauśika (藏文,梵文天城体:कौशिक,梵文罗马拟音:kauśika,汉语字面意思: कौशिका), the lion's roar is like this: shown with one point, all Dharmas are without person, without self. Kauśika (藏文,梵文天城体:कौशिक,梵文罗马拟音:kauśika,汉语字面意思: कौशिका), the lion's roar is like this: in one point, all Dharmas are emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness completely
