Those who arise and do not abandon each separately. Said: Manjushri, who has truly entered? Said: Whoever has not entered the three realms. Said: Manjushri, who is extremely subdued? Said: Whoever does not take existence. Said: Manjushri, who has become happy? Said: Those who have no actions of "I". Said: Manjushri, who are liberated? Said: Those who do not disturb the object of focus. Said: Manjushri, who are the ones who have crossed over? Said: Those who do not abide in samsara and nirvana. Said: Manjushri, what is exhausted by a bhikshu who has exhausted defilements? Said: Brahma, if it were exhausted, then it would not become the exhaustion of defilements, because those defilements are momentary, therefore, knowing those as they are, therefore it is called the exhaustion of defilements. Said: Manjushri, who are the ones who speak the truth? Said: Those who have completely transcended all disputes. Said: Manjushri, who has entered the path? Said: Brahma, the individual beings of children have entered the path. Said: Manjushri, who has entered the non-path? Said: Those noble ones who know that all dharmas do not come from anywhere and do not go anywhere. Said: Manjushri, what is seeing the truth? Said: Not seeing any dharma. Why is that? Because as much as one sees, that much is false, and not seeing is seeing the truth. Said: Who sees the truth by seeing? Said: Not seeing all that is seen is seeing the truth. Said: Where should it be sought? Said: The truth should be sought from the four inversions. Said: Manjushri, thinking of what do you speak like that? Said: Whoever seeks the four inversions, for him there is neither permanence, nor happiness, nor self, nor purity, whoever has no permanence, that is impermanence. Whoever has no happiness, that is suffering. Whoever has no self, that is having self. Whoever has no purity, that is impurity. Brahma, the selflessness in all dharmas is seeking the noble truth, whoever seeks the truth, this is not meditating from not fully knowing suffering to the path. Said: Manjushri, how does one meditate on the path? Said: How does one not fall into things when meditating? Thing

One does not fall into non-existence, and one does not view any dharma as substantial. One does not create non-existence either; freedom from the two extremes is the path. By what path does one seek? This is the path of not perceiving all dharmas. One does not encounter it anywhere, nor does one abandon it, and there is neither samsara nor nirvana. Why is that? Because there is no encounter and no abandonment; this is the path of the noble ones. Then, a Brahmin named "Remaining Steadfast," like the son of a great Sala tree, spoke thus to Manjushri, who had become a youth: "Manjushri, how does a lay follower take refuge in the Buddha? How does one take refuge in the Dharma? How does one take refuge in the Sangha?" He said: "Son of good family, when a lay follower does not closely grasp two views, what are the two? They are not grasping the view of self, and not grasping the view of other. Not grasping the view of self, and not grasping the view of the Buddha. Not grasping the view of self, and not grasping the view of the Dharma. Not grasping the view of self, and not grasping the view of the Sangha. Just by that, the lay follower has taken refuge in the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha. Furthermore, son of good family, when a lay follower does not accept the Tathagata as form, not as feeling, not as perception, not as formation, and does not accept the Tathagata as consciousness, then one has taken refuge in the Buddha. When one does not discriminate against any dharma and does not add anything, then one has taken refuge in the Dharma. When one believes in the Sangha as neither assembled nor made, and apart from the assembled, one does not believe in the unmade, then one has taken refuge in the Sangha. Furthermore, son of good family, when a lay follower does not perceive the Buddha, does not perceive the Dharma, and does not perceive the Sangha, then one has taken refuge in the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha." Remaining Steadfast said: "Manjushri, where do these Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who have entered into Bodhi enter?" He said: "They enter into the unconditioned. Why is that? Because Bodhi is the same as the unconditioned." He said: "Manjushri, how does a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva enter into Bodhi?"
