He himself is not a container for all dharmas. Brahma is not a container, which is an empty word without substance. 'Without substance' is an empty word without concealment. The All-Knowing One is the same as without concealment. Therefore, I do not accept any dharma. Brahma is like this, for example, dwelling in the sky, doing all things, but the sky does not dwell in them. Likewise, all wisdoms are established in the All-Knowing One himself, but the All-Knowing One himself does not dwell in them. Question: Blessed One, we call the All-Knowing One the All-Knowing One. Blessed One, for what reason do we call him the All-Knowing One? The Buddha replied: Brahma, he knows all the actions of the Hearers and Solitary Buddhas. Therefore, he is called the All-Knowing One. He knows all their thoughts, knows all their actions, knows compassion, knows the trainings, and knows the correct grasping. Therefore, he is called the All-Knowing One. He has completely abandoned all causes, and destroyed all pride. That is the All-Knowing One. There is no attainment, no discrimination, but he knows the conduct of the minds of all sentient beings from there. Therefore, he is called the All-Knowing One. He has realized all wisdoms, the wisdom of the learner, the wisdom of the non-learner, the wisdom of the Solitary Buddha, and the wisdom of the All-Knowing One. Thus, it is established, therefore he is called the All-Knowing One. Through correct practice, wisdom enters into this, therefore he is called the All-Knowing One. He completely knows all medicines, therefore he is called the All-Knowing One. He has pacified all diseases, therefore he is called the All-Knowing One. He has destroyed all bonds, therefore he is called the All-Knowing One. He has destroyed all connections linked by habitual tendencies, therefore he is called the All-Knowing One. He always abides in equanimity, therefore he is called the All-Knowing One. He has no doubt about all dharmas, therefore he is called the All-Knowing One. All worldly and transcendental wisdoms are also all.

Having known this, therefore, it is called the All-Knowing One. Brahma, therefore, the term All-Knowing One is a superior expression skilled in the wisdom of the All-Knowing. Then, Brahma, with a distinguished mind, addressed the Blessed One as follows: Blessed One, thus the Tathagata also knows all the mental activities of all sentient beings, yet there is no object of mind that is not entered. This is the inconceivable wisdom of the Buddha, which is most wondrous. Blessed One, if there are such immeasurable distinctions of qualities in that, what son or daughter of good family would not generate the mind of unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment? Then, the Bodhisattva Net Light addressed the Blessed One as follows: Blessed One, if there are Bodhisattvas who enter into enlightenment for the sake of desiring qualities, it should be known that they have not rightly entered the Great Vehicle. Why is that? Blessed One, because there is no desire, all dharmas are devoid of qualities and without qualities. Therefore, Bodhisattvas should not enter into enlightenment for the sake of qualities or for the sake of goodness. Rather, they should do so with the cause of great compassion, in order not to fear their own suffering, to generate virtuous dharmas, to be liberated from views, to eliminate all diseases, to abandon grasping, to not regard friends and non-friends, to not be stained by worldly dharmas, to be weary of conditioned things, to delight in the bliss of Nirvana, to uphold the true Dharma, and to ripen sentient beings. Blessed One, Bodhisattvas should be without desire and should not desire others. Blessed One, Bodhisattvas should have no regret for what has been done or not done. Blessed One, Bodhisattvas are not harmed by pleasure and pain. Blessed One, what is the completely pure root of virtue of the Bodhisattvas? Blessed One.

said: Son of lineage, the reign of the Chakravartin king is not said to be the complete purification of the root of virtue. It is not becoming Indra, nor is it becoming Brahma, because that which has no birth and no place of birth is the complete purification of the root of virtue of the Bodhisattvas. Even if it is the smallest, the root of virtue will not be completely diminished, even to the point of going to the place of birth of animals, generating the roots of virtue of other sentient beings, this is the complete purification of the root of virtue of the Bodhisattvas. Because of giving without looking at all things, it is the root of virtue of the Bodhisattvas. Because there is no complete suffering, discipline is the root of virtue of the Bodhisattvas. Because there is no harmful mind, patience is the root of virtue of the Bodhisattvas. Because there is no laziness, diligence is the root of virtue of the Bodhisattva s. Because of being one-pointed, meditation is the root of virtue of the Bodhisattvas. Because of being separated from views, wisdom is the root of virtue of the Bodhisattvas. Because the mind is equanimous, love is the root of virtue of the Bodhisattvas. Because the superior intention is completely pure, compassion is the root of virtue of the Bodhisattvas. Because of generating faith in the Dharma, joy is the root of virtue of the Bodhisattvas. Because there is no attachment or hatred, equanimity is the root of virtue of the Bodhisattvas. Because it is not desired by Hearers and Solitary Buddhas, not abandoning the mind of enlightenment is the root of virtue of the Bodhisattvas. Fourth Chapter. Then, Manjushri, the youthful one, gathered in that assembly and sat without saying a word. Then, Brahma, with a special mind, requested the Blessed One, saying: Blessed One, Manjushri, the youthful one, is present in this assembly, but he does not show even a little of the words of correct speech. At that time, the Blessed One said to Manjushri, the youthful one: Manjushri, in this teaching of the Dharma, you should speak some continuous words. Manjushri requested: What Dharma
