If the emanation does not have true perfection, what will it predict? Said: Venerable Kashyapa, it is so. If, like the emanation of illusion, all dharmas are not perfected, then to whom do you ask, how long will it take for you to realize the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment and become a Buddha? Said: Son of good family, if, like the emanation of illusion, it is empty, unchanging, without complete realization, without action, then if you are also like that, how will you benefit limitless sentient beings? Said: Venerable Kashyapa, whatever is the nature of illusion, that is also the nature of enlightenment. Whatever is the nature of enlightenment, that is also the nature of sentient beings. Whatever is the nature of illusion, enlightenment, and sentient beings, that is also the nature of all dharmas. Venerable Kashyapa, I have not seen anything as real or unreal. Said: Son of good family, have you not entered the path to Buddhahood? Said: Venerable Kashyapa, is that the characteristic of the Tathagatas entering enlightenment? Said: It is not. Said: Therefore, I have not entered for the sake of becoming a Buddha, becoming a Shravaka, or becoming a Pratyekabuddha. Said: Son of good family, what have you entered? Said: I have entered that which enters Suchness. Said: Son of good family, Suchness neither enters nor departs. Said: Venerable Kashyapa, just as Suchness does not enter or depart, so too, all dharmas do not enter or depart from the entry of Suchness. Said: Net Light, if you do not enter or depart, how do you fully ripen sentient beings? Said: Venerable Kashyapa, those who make aspirations are not striving to fully ripen sentient beings. Those who do not turn back from any dharma are not striving to fully ripen sentient beings. Said: Son of good family, do you not liberate sentient beings from samsara? Said: I do not perceive samsara itself, how can I liberate sentient beings from samsara?

do. Said: Son of good family, do you not place sentient beings in nirvana? Said: If I have not seen nirvana itself, how can I place sentient beings in it? Said: Son of good family, since there is neither samsara nor nirvana in this, then why do Bodhisattvas always act to completely lead sentient beings to nirvana? Said: Venerable Mahakashyapa, if one aims at samsara, fully realizes nirvana, and abides in the perception of sentient beings while practicing Bodhi, then they should not be called Bodhisattvas. Said: Son of good family, where do you act? Said: Venerable Mahakashyapa, I do not act in samsara, nor in nirvana, nor in the perception of sentient beings, but Venerable Mahakashyapa, if you ask where you act, Venerable Mahakashyapa, I act in the same way that the emanation of the Tathagata acts. Said: Son of good family, the emanation of the Tathagata does not act in anything. Said: Venerable Mahakashyapa, the characteristic of the actions of all sentient beings should also be viewed in this way. Said: Son of good family, even if the characteristic of the actions of all sentient beings is like this, the emanations of the Tathagata will not be attached, will not be angry, and will not be deluded, so why do attachment, hatred, and ignorance arise in sentient beings? Said: Therefore, ask the venerable one himself about this. Explain this according to your own belief. Does the venerable Mahakashyapa currently have attachment, hatred, and ignorance? Said: It is not so. Said: Then have your attachment, hatred, and ignorance been exhausted? Have they disappeared? Said: It is not so. Said: If the venerable one's attachment, hatred, and ignorance do not exist, nor have they been exhausted or disappeared, then where are your attachment, hatred, and ignorance? Said: Son of good family, attachment and
