Said: Brahma, how can all designations not be designations? Said: Son of good family, all dharmas are designated as not being designations. Therefore, designating in all dharmas is not designating. Said: Brahma, how can all goings not be goings? Said: Because there is nowhere to go, all goings are not goings. Then, the Bhagavan said to Brahma Superior Mind: Brahma, well done! Well done! If it is to be spoken, it should be spoken like that. Thus, he gave "Well done!" Then, the youth Net of Light said this to Brahma Superior Mind: Brahma, you say that you practice what all ignorant common people practice, so have you obtained that practice? Said: Son of good family, if I had a cause for birth, then I would also obtain my practice. Said: Brahma, if there is no birth, then how do you completely ripen sentient beings? Said: Son of good family, just as the birth of the Tathagata's emanation is, so is my birth similar to that. Said: That which is emanated by the Tathagata has no birth at all. Said: Does the emanation of the Tathagata appear? Said: Because it is like a supreme Buddha, it appears. Said: Son of good family, because it is like a supreme action, my birth should also be viewed in that way. Said: Brahma, what manifest activity do you engage in? Said: Son of good family, I do not engage in manifest activity of action. Said: Without action, how does it become like a supreme action? Said: Just as action is, its supremacy does not go beyond that nature. Then, the venerable Shariputra said this to the Bhagavan: Bhagavan, those who can enter into the gentle speech of these elephants will accumulate much merit. Why is that? Bhagavan, just hearing the names of those noble beings is also hearing well, let alone hearing the Dharma! Bhagavan, for example, a tree cannot grow roots, stems, and without relying on the great earth.

Just as branches, leaves, flowers, and fruits are displayed, so too should the characteristics of the conduct of these noble beings, the Bhagavan, be viewed. Like this, not abiding in all dharmas, and also showing conduct, birth, appearance, transference, and death, and also existing in the Buddha-fields, for those, especially, such courage of wisdom should arise. Bhagavan, if one sees such transformations made by the courage of wisdom, which son or daughter of good family would not generate the mind for unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment? Third fascicle. Then, a Bodhisattva named Sarvatrapuspa (Kuntu Metok) gathered and sat in that assembly. He said to the Venerable Shariputra: Venerable, the Tathagata has declared you to be the foremost among the wise. Like this, if one cannot transform such transformations with the courage of wisdom, is it that the Venerable has not comprehended the realm of dharma? The Venerable said: Sarvatrapuspa, the Shravakas of the Bhagavan show the knowable realm as it is. He said: Venerable Shariputra, is the realm of dharma counted as a knowable realm? He replied: It is not. He said: Then, how does the Venerable Shariputra show the knowable realm as it is? He replied: The Shravakas show as much as they comprehend. He said: Does the Venerable comprehend the immeasurable forms of the realm of dharma? He replied: Son of good family, it is so. He said: Because the realm of dharma has no limit, therefore the realm of dharma is limitless. Venerable Shariputra, if one comprehends the limitless in this way, and also shows the limitless in this way, then, whoever comprehends what, in what manner he comprehends, his demonstration also appears in the same way. He replied: Sarvatrapuspa, the realm of dharma is not the nature of being comprehended. He said: Venerable Shariputra, if the realm of dharma is not the nature of being comprehended, then are you liberated as a separate entity from the realm of dharma? He replied: It is not. He said: Why? He replied: Because the realm of dharma would become a separate entity. He said: Venerable Shariputra, therefore

Just as it is understood, so is the realm of dharma. Said: Purna, I do not want to teach, but I want to listen. Said: Venerable Shariputra, how should all dharmas be explained or listened to, given that they are definitely unchanging in the realm of dharma? Said: It is not so. Said: Then why do you think that I want to listen and not want to teach? Said: Son of good family, the Tathagata has also said that the two people who respectfully teach the Dharma and respectfully listen to the Dharma accumulate much merit. Therefore, you speak, and I will listen. Said: Venerable Shariputra, can one listen to the Dharma while abiding in the cessation of all perceptions and feelings? Said: Son of good family, there is no engagement with the two that are to be listened to in cessation. Said: Venerable Shariputra, are all dharmas considered to be naturally extinguished? Said: Son of good family, it is so. All dharmas are utterly extinguished. Said: Therefore, Venerable Shariputra, you do not have the opportunity to constantly and continuously listen to the Dharma. Why is that? Because all dharmas are naturally extinguished. Said: Son of good family, can you teach the Dharma without rising from samadhi? Said: Venerable Shariputra, do you perceive any dharma that is not constantly abiding? Said: No, I do not. Said: Then all ordinary beings will also abide in samadhi. Said: Son of good family, in what samadhi do ordinary beings abide? Said: In the samadhi of the undistorted realm of dharma. Said: Purna, if that is so, there will be no difference between ordinary beings and noble ones. Said: Venerable Shariputra, it is so. I do not wish to differentiate between noble ones and ordinary beings. Why is that? Because the noble ones have not ceased any dharma, and the ordinary beings have not generated any dharma, because the realm of dharma is equality itself, and it does not transcend itself. Said: Son of good family, the equality of dharmas
