Having become an intermediate realm. Therefore, great compassion of the Tathagata arises for sentient beings. If all dharmas are without aspiration, then sentient beings engage in aspirations. Therefore, great compassion of the Tathagata arises for sentient beings. Alas! Seeing that this world of inhabitants is completely seized by mutual disputes and has entered into the fault of harmful speech, in order to abandon the fault of harmful speech for them, the Dharma is taught. Therefore, great compassion of the Tathagata arises for sentient beings. Alas! This world of inhabitants is endowed with perversion, has entered a dangerous path, and abides on a wrong path. They should be led onto the correct path. Therefore, great compassion of the Tathagata arises for sentient beings. Alas! This world of inhabitants is overwhelmed by the power of greed and attachment, is not content, and steals the wealth of others. In order for them to rejoice in the noble wealth of faith, discipline, learning, generosity, wisdom, shame, and modesty, great compassion of the Tathagata arises for sentient beings. Alas! These sentient beings are enslaved by craving for wealth, grain, houses, children, wives, etc., and cling to what is meaningless as meaningful. In order to show them the very impermanent nature, great compassion of the Tathagata arises for sentient beings. Alas! These sentient beings live on ignorance and abide in deceiving one another. In order to purify their lives completely, the Dharma is taught. Therefore, great compassion of the Tathagata arises for sentient beings. Alas! If these sentient beings are unfriendly, they will increase in gain and respect, and think, "We are friendly." In order to make them very truly virtuous friends for the happiness of the cessation of suffering, Nirvana, great compassion of the Tathagata arises for sentient beings. Alas! These sentient beings have become very afflicted, have much suffering, and are very fond of the home life. In order to turn them away from the three realms, the Dharma of renunciation is taught. Therefore, great compassion of the Tathagata arises for sentient beings.

O! All dharmas are characterized by being close to and abiding by virtue of having accomplished the approach of causes. Because they are lazy towards the liberation of the noble ones, the Tathagata generates great compassion for sentient beings. Sentient beings abandon this unsurpassed complete nirvana of the supreme and extraordinary wisdom of the Buddha, which is without attachment, and seek the lesser vehicle of the hearers and solitary Buddhas. In order to make them focus on the wisdom of the Buddha, their minds should be inclined towards the vast realm. Thus, the Tathagata generates great compassion for sentient beings. Brahma, the Tathagata generates thirty-two kinds of great compassion for sentient beings. Therefore, the Tathagata is called one who abides in great compassion. Brahma, if a Bodhisattva engages sentient beings with these thirty-two kinds of great compassion, then, Brahma, this Bodhisattva Mahasattva is a field of merit, greatly expanding in glory, irreversible, and diligent in the benefit of sentient beings, it should be known. Furthermore, when this chapter on the door of the Dharma of great compassion was expounded, thirty-two thousand beings generated the mind for unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment. Hundreds of thousands of beings attained great patience. Seventy-two thousand sons of the gods attained the pure Dharma eye, free from dust and defilement, towards all dharmas. Then, the Bodhisattva Net Light said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, Brahma, especially upon hearing this Dharma teaching that is endowed with the great compassion of the Tathagata, will they not rejoice and be happy? Extraordinary Mind said: Son of good family, those who possess two kinds of consciousness will have joy or happiness, but for those who abide in the ultimate reality of non-duality, there is neither joy nor happiness. Son of good family, for example, a person conjured by magic has neither joy nor happiness for someone who enters a magic performance. Son of good family, likewise, all dharmas are of the nature of illusion.

Because it has its own nature, it will not be happy with the miraculous transformations of the Tathagata, nor will it be happy. Son of the lineage, for example, if the incarnation of the Tathagata hears the bold words of the Tathagata, he will not be happy, nor will he be happy. Son of the lineage, similarly, after knowing that all dharmas are of the nature of illusion, he will not be particularly happy with the Tathagata, nor will he despise other sentient beings. Net Light said: Brahma, do you know that all your dharmas are of the nature of illusion and transformation? Answer: Son of the lineage, ask those who hold the practice as dualistic. Question: Brahma, what do you practice? Answer: I also practice what all ordinary people practice. Question: Brahma, ordinary people practice greed, hatred, and ignorance. Practicing destructible aggregates, holding precepts and vows as supreme, doubt, arrogance, self-grasping, possessiveness, desire, great desire, and adultery, do you also practice these? Answer: Son of the lineage, do you think that the dharma of ordinary people is perfectly accomplished? Question: I don't even desire ordinary people themselves, so how can I desire their dharma to be perfectly accomplished? Answer: Son of the lineage, do you want to generate greed, hatred, or ignorance towards this dharma that has not been perfectly accomplished? Answer: No. Answer: Son of the lineage, all dharmas are free from greed, free from hatred, and free from ignorance, and practice is also its nature. Son of the lineage, in this way, practice is non-dual, so the practice of ordinary people is also the practice of the noble ones. Son of the lineage, all practices are not practices, all bonds are not bonds, and all goings are not goings. Said: Brahma, then how can it be said that all practices are not practices? Answer: Even if you practice for hundreds of thousands of billions of kalpas, you cannot see the decrease or increase of the Dharmadhatu, therefore all practices are not practices.
