If the Lord of the Kinnaras, the Bodhisattva, possesses these four dharmas, it should be known that he will not be completely weary. Then, after the Blessed One answered the Kinnara King Tree about practicing these four dharmas, he said to King Ajatasatru: 'Great King, have you heard about the complete weariness and the complete non-weariness of the four practices of the Bodhisattvas?' The King replied: 'Blessed One, I have heard.' The Blessed One said: 'Great King, therefore you should practice the conduct of the Bodhisattva without being completely weary.' King Ajatasatru asked: 'Blessed One, what are the practices of the Bodhisattvas?' Then, in order to fulfill the Bodhisattva conduct of King Ajatasatru, the Blessed One said to the Kinnara King Tree: 'Lord of the Kinnaras, in order to fulfill the Bodhisattva conduct of this King Ajatasatru, you should show how to skillfully distinguish the methods for completely maturing sentient beings.' Then, the Kinnara King Tree placed his lute before the Blessed One. As soon as the lute was placed, due to the power of the Buddha and the splendor of the roots of virtue of the Kinnara King Tree, the sound of the lute, like the roar of a lion, caused many sala trees to sway, and these verses of Bodhisattva conduct arose: The practice of benefit and the practice of meaning, the practice of diligently hearing the Dharma, whatever practice of supreme Bodhi, these should be practiced without any weariness. The practice of ease and the practice of happiness, the practice of equanimity towards all beings, whatever practice of supreme Bodhi, these are not practiced if they are not vast. The practice of steadfastness and the practice of truth, the practice of completely pure intention, whatever practice of supreme Bodhi, these should be practiced without deception at any time. The practice of gentleness and the practice of generosity, all things
