Arya Drumakinnararajapariprccha Nama Mahayana Sutra. Arya Drumakinnararajapariprccha Nama Mahayana Sutra. In Sanskrit: Arya Drumakinnararajapariprccha Nama Mahayana Sutra. In Tibetan: The Great Vehicle Sutra called 'The Noble Drumakinnararaja's Questions'. Volume 1. Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas! Thus have I heard. At one time, the Blessed One was dwelling in Rajagriha on Vulture Peak Mountain, together with a great Sangha of monks consisting of sixty-two thousand monks. There were also seventy-two thousand Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas, mostly gathered from the Buddha-fields of the ten directions, all known for their supernormal knowledge, having fully attained dharanis, possessing unattached eloquence, having fully attained samadhi, and being complete with mindfulness, intelligence, understanding, devotion, conscientiousness, and propriety. Their minds were as firm and unwavering as a vajra, they were perfectly endowed with the practice of all the Buddha's teachings, they had entered into a particularly excellent higher intention, they did not abandon their own mind of enlightenment, and they caused other beings to correctly grasp the mind of enlightenment. They knew the rituals of giving, taming, discipline, serenity, patience, and completely giving away and completely dedicating all painful things. They were well adorned with the ornaments of body, speech, mind, and ethics. They had thoroughly donned the armor of the power of equanimity, patience, and serenity towards all beings. They had exerted themselves greatly in diligence for countless billions of hundreds of thousands of myriads of kalpas. They sported with meditation, liberation, samadhi, absorption, and the wisdom of supernormal knowledge. They were skilled in wisdom and prajna, possessing unattached eloquence in the thorough differentiation of all words. Like Mount Sumeru, their minds were unmoving. Like earth, water, fire, wind, and mountains, they were compliant, free from anger, abiding in great love with unobstructed rays of light, abiding in great compassion, striving for the single task of all sentient beings, and joyful.
