Rajé. How can selflessness and compassion be equal to that? The embodiments of Bodhisattvas said: Those who know emptiness well, they understand selflessness. Those who know beings are empty, their compassion is supreme. The cymbal players said: All phenomena by their very nature, have no coming and no going. How can karma and the ripening of karma be consistent? The embodiments of Bodhisattvas said: In the ultimate sense, there is no coming, and there is no going anywhere. In the conventional sense, one enters the path, and shows the ripening is near. The cymbal players said: Emptiness, signlessness, and the abandonment of aspirations, if one thoroughly understands them as one nature, how does one know that very thing? The embodiments of Bodhisattvas said: Whatever is emptiness is signless. Signlessness is without seeking meaning. Nature is one and meaning is one, it shows the door of liberation. The cymbal players said: How does one understand the emptiness of going to nirvana? How does one view sentient beings? How does one bring them to maturity? The embodiments of Bodhisattvas said: With wisdom, one understands emptiness. With skillful means, one looks at sentient beings. With compassion, one brings them to maturity. Thus, one goes to nirvana. The cymbal players said: These dharmas, by their very nature, are without birth and without arising. Having known such an excellent way, by what will one be born in samsara? The embodiments of Bodhisattvas said: No birth and no arising, that is the realm of wisdom. Whatever is born intentionally, that is the way of skillful means. The cymbal players said: How does one become delighted in giving? How does one become irreversible? How does one perfectly possess patience? How does one become completely certain? The embodiments of Bodhisattvas said: One is delighted in giving by abiding in equanimity. One does not turn back from the realm of dharma. Patience is in non-arising. Having known the dharma, one becomes completely certain. The cymbal players said: What is the essence of the heart of enlightenment? What is the characteristic of perfect enlightenment? Why is it known as perfect Buddha?

How does the Tathagata liberate? The forms of the Bodhisattvas said: The essence of Bodhi is the sky; Bodhi is the nature of the sky. There is no ignorance whatsoever; Therefore, due to suchness, it is called Tathagata. Then, after hearing these verses, those sons of the Kinnara king obtained great forbearance in the Dharma of non-arising. After they had obtained great forbearance, they covered the Blessed One with their own garments and ornaments, and also said this: Blessed One, because of what we have obtained such ears to hear, the Buddha has appeared for our sake. Blessed One, from these lutes and songs, such a sound of questioning has arisen, and since these forms of Bodhisattvas have answered all those questions, all the doubts of this assembly have been dispelled, and we have also generated immeasurable light of Dharma, which is wonderful! Blessed One, what is the cause of such a sound arising from those lutes? By whose blessing do these forms of Bodhisattvas answer? The Blessed One said: Good men, all those should be regarded as the blessing of the Buddha. Good men, by the blessing of the Tathagata, if such a Dharma sound can arise even from the sky, why should the Dharma sound not arise from the lute? Good men, thus the blessing of the Tathagata is inconceivable. The sons of the Kinnara king said: Blessed One, may all sentient beings obtain the inconceivable blessing of the Buddha! Chapter Four. Then, the Kinnara king, woven with trees, with eighty-four thousand Kinnara women holding various colored pearl necklaces, went to where the Blessed One was, prostrated with his head at the feet of the Blessed One, and covered the Blessed One with those pearl necklaces as he held them. As soon as the pearl necklaces were offered, by the power of the Buddha, those pearl necklaces in the space directly above the head of the Blessed One became a layered palace of pearl necklaces.
