The perfection of generosity of a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva is completely purified by thirty-two (ways). What are these thirty-two ways? Namely: When a Bodhisattva, the lord of humans and non-humans, gives, the giving that is preceded by the mind of enlightenment is giving; the giving with a mind that has abandoned the Lesser Vehicle is giving; the giving with a mind that has no hatred towards beggars is giving; the giving that regards the recipients as places of giving is giving; the giving that regards the recipients as virtuous friends is giving; the giving that abandons the defilements of inner afflictions is giving; the giving with joy, delight, and supreme joy of a mind without clinging is giving; the giving with outstretched arms, rejoicing in giving up through liberation, is giving; the giving with faith in the vast and with a fearless mind is giving; the giving without dwelling on any vessel is giving; the giving without expecting fruition is giving; the giving with a mind that does not expect a return is giving; the giving with a mind that seeks the Dharma of the Buddha is giving; the giving dedicated to the wisdom of omniscience is giving; the giving with a mind without suffering is giving; the giving that is preceded by the object of gathering is giving; the giving for the sake of fully maturing sentient beings is giving; the giving with the thought, 'May I become a holder of the Dharma,' is giving; the giving with the thought, 'May I be in accordance with the words of the Tathagata,' is giving; the giving with the thought, 'May I cut off the party of the demons,' is giving; the giving with the thought, 'May I practice the path of enlightenment properly,' is giving; the giving with the thought, 'May I perform the deeds of a great man,' is giving; the giving with the thought, 'May I completely abandon the path of the pretas,' is giving; the giving with the thought, 'May all my possessions become the cause of complete giving,' is giving; the giving with the thought, 'May I take up well the practice that turns into great enjoyment.'

May it be a giving, this giving is giving, may I abide in the joy of Dharma, this giving is giving, may I not have scarce virtuous friends, this giving is giving, may I have eyes that delight all sentient beings, this giving is giving, may I accomplish the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment with this giving, this giving is giving, may I not imitate other Bodhisattvas who are perfect in giving, this giving is giving, may I fully uphold the accumulated thirty-two major and eighty minor marks, this giving is giving, may I purify the Buddha-field, may I directly realize all the Buddha's teachings, this giving is giving. These thirty-two lords of non-humans make the perfection of giving of the Bodhisattva completely pure. The thirty-two lords of non-humans make the perfection of discipline of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva completely pure. What are the thirty-two? The discipline of having prosperous and perfect precepts, the flawless discipline of not giving up at all, the non-contaminated discipline of extremely pure conduct, the discipline of being able to freely possess many manifestations by going to other Buddha lands, the discipline of mantra recitation for the sake of wisdom by wise people, the discipline of liberating from the path of all bad destinies and bad migrations, the discipline of completely abiding in all things of happiness, the discipline given by the Buddha that accomplishes the complete discipline of the Buddha, the unwavering discipline of relying on the yidam, the discipline of not praising oneself and not slandering others by definitely thinking of one's own mind, the discipline of compassion of definitely thinking without afflictions, the discipline of approaching all the dharmas of the aspects of enlightenment, the discipline of rejoicing in rejoicing in great joy, the discipline of being content with little desire without desire and attachment, the discipline of accomplishing great achievements with diligence as the essence, the discipline of devoting oneself to renunciation without looking at all household matters, the discipline of having joy in solitary places with joy and delight in the joy of Dharma, the discipline of determining little desire and contentment by relying on the noble lineage, the discipline of truly practicing in pure qualities by being separated from all sinful desires, the discipline of practicing without object by acting without sentient beings, the discipline of eliminating all wrong views and ignorance by completely abandoning annihilation and permanence, the discipline of conforming to enlightenment by not contradicting dependent origination. These thirty-two lords of non-humans purify the perfection of the bodhisattva's discipline. These thirty-two lords of non-humans purify the perfection of patience of the bodhisattvas. What are the thirty-two? They are: looking at patience instead of looking at the body; looking at patience without being attached to life; enduring without a hateful mind.
