Endurance, endurance in emptiness, endurance in the person as well. Why is that? Because there is no emptiness other than the person, the person is emptiness. Endurance in signs, endurance in the absence of signs. Why is that? Because the nature of signs is the absence of signs. Endurance in aspiration, endurance in the absence of aspiration. Why is that? Because the characteristic of the nature of aspiration is the absence of aspiration. Endurance that all sentient beings are naturally completely liberated, endurance that sentient beings die and are born. Why is that? Death and birth are the nature of illusion. Son of good family, thus the bodhisattva who has fully attained forbearance of non-arising dharmas is without cessation, and is not in conflict with all dharmas. Although I follow endurance, I also follow all sentient beings. Although I follow endurance, I also follow all dharmas, there is no coming, and there is no going. All dharmas abide in the realm of dharmas, and are also fully known as they are. Just as they abide in the realm of dharmas, so all sentient beings abide, and whatever abode, having attained it in the manner of an unattainable abode, holding near the sound of the expression of verbal convention, is called possessing forbearance of non-arising dharmas. Forbearance of non-arising dharmas cannot be spoken, cannot be expressed, cannot be shown by anyone. Why is that? That meaning is unspeakable, without sound, inexpressible, but this which is shown by speaking the unspeakable meaning is the greatness of the Tathagata, son of good family. Then the bodhisattva Divine Crown asked the Blessed One this: Blessed One, how wonderful, this king of the non-humans, how confident he is in expounding forbearance in such profound dharma, and how rare it is that he is rich in approaching, practicing, and enjoying such a vast realm, and possessing such profound forbearance through teaching the dharma. Blessed One, how many roots of virtue has this king of the non-humans, the tree, created in the Tathagatas, the Arhats, the perfectly awakened Buddhas, that he has this

Such bravery arose. The Blessed One said: Son of good family, can the number of stars in the worlds like the sands of the Ganges be measured? Likewise, the king of the non-humans, Tree, has accumulated roots of virtue at the feet of as many perfectly enlightened Buddhas as that, and for the sake of seeking the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, he has practiced pure conduct at the feet of those Tathagatas. Those Tathagatas, Arhats, perfectly enlightened Buddhas, cannot be measured either. Therefore, this is such bravery. Then, the Bodhisattva Heavenly Crown spoke thus to the king of the non-humans, Tree: Lord of the non-humans, you have accumulated roots of virtue from so many Tathagatas, Arhats, perfectly enlightened Buddhas. By accumulating so many roots of virtue, will you awaken to unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment? The king of the non-humans, Tree, said: Son of good family, when Bodhisattvas perfectly cultivate roots of virtue, there are twelve things that they never tire of. What are the twelve? They are: never tiring of making offerings and serving the Tathagata; never tiring of listening to the Dharma; never tiring of upholding the sacred Dharma; never tiring of extensively teaching the Dharma; never tiring of maturing sentient beings; never tiring of perfectly cultivating roots of virtue; never tiring of dwelling in solitude; never tiring of fulfilling all the perfections; never tiring of manifesting wisdom, rejoicing, and perfecting it; never tiring of firmly believing in the Dharma and applying it properly; never tiring of seeking the accumulations of merit and wisdom; and never tiring of perfectly cultivating all the aspects of enlightenment. Son of good family, these are the things that Bodhisattvas never tire of when they perfectly cultivate roots of virtue. These are the

Twelve kinds of non-contentment. Therefore, Bodhisattvas are not content with accumulating merits. Then, the king of the non-humans, Tree, said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, there exists a samadhi of Bodhisattvas called the source of jewels. If Bodhisattvas rely on that samadhi, they will obtain all the excellent qualities of merit jewels. I have heard such a saying. Blessed One, because of hearing what, in order for Bodhisattvas to be able to obtain all the excellent qualities of merit jewels, please the Tathagata explain well the samadhi of the Bodhisattva's source of jewels. The Blessed One said: Lord of the non-humans, therefore listen very well and keep it in mind, and I will tell you about the samadhi of the Bodhisattva's source of jewels. The king of the non-humans, Tree, said to the Blessed One: Good, and then listened to the teachings of the Blessed One, and the Blessed One said to him: Lord of the non-humans, here, the Bodhisattva enters these eighty kinds of precious mind generation in order to not interrupt the Buddha Jewel, not interrupt the Dharma Jewel, and not interrupt the Sangha Jewel. What are the eighty? For example, entering the precious mind of not forgetting all-knowing wisdom, the precious mind of not abandoning superior intention, the mind of not abandoning all merits, the mind of not abandoning complete union with all merits, the precious mind of not abandoning steadfastness to the chosen deity, the precious mind of completely giving away all possessions, and the mind of not expecting complete maturation in the mind of enlightenment, and completely abandoning the three roots of non-virtue, thereby possessing the precious mind of bodily adornment, and completely abandoning the four faults of speech, thereby possessing the precious mind of speech adornment, and being free from greed, malice, and wrong views, thereby possessing the precious mind of mental adornment, and the precepts are not diminished, and
