With a mind निश्चित (nges par sems pa) on the Dharma, thinking of the Dharma as like an illusion, being born μεταβιβάζω (‘pho zhing skye ba) without death, entering the Dharma with the nature of the Dharma's characteristics as the nature of a dream, thinking of the inverted Dharma as it is in reality, the blessings of the Buddhas, the Bhagavad-Gitas, and being born, μεταβιβάζω (‘pho zhing ‘byung la skye ba) and being born, μεταβιβάζω (‘pho ba) and being born, and not thinking of μεταβιβάζω (‘pho ba) and being born. Son of good family! Wherever the Bodhisattva is born, and does the meaning of sentient beings, the births that are spoken of, the immeasurable and countless births, all of them abide in two roots, namely, abiding in the wisdom of direct perception, and abiding in the root of great compassion. Son of good family! Thus, the Bodhisattva has power over birth, death μεταβιβάζω (‘chi ‘pho), and birth. Son of good family! How does the Bodhisattva pass well from the path of the four demons, and be able to subdue all the demons and heretics? Son of good family! This Bodhisattva, knowing and understanding all dharmas as like illusions, therefore passes well from the demon of the aggregates. As the Dharma that is heard, properly attending to it, therefore passes well from the demon of afflictions. By understanding dependent origination, therefore passes well from the demon of the lord of death. Because the Bodhi mind does not decline, therefore passes well from the demon of the son of the gods. Moreover, he subdues the deeds of the demons, what are the deeds of the demons that he subdues? That is, those who cannot find the Bodhisattva's convenience, desiring the lower vehicle is the deed of the demon, not guarding the Bodhi mind is the deed of the demon, giving differently to sentient beings is the deed of the demon, abiding in the precepts of birth is the deed of the demon, thus combining them, the patience given to form, and the diligence of striving in worldly affairs, and the samadhi of being attached to and enjoying them, and the evil Dharma of slandering wisdom is the deed of the demon, being disgusted with samsara is the deed of the demon, not increasing the roots of virtue is the deed of the demon, not rebuking afflictions is the deed of the demon, concealing transgressions is the deed of the demon, hating the Bodhisattva

The works of Mara: Abandoning the sacred Dharma is the work of Mara, severing the continuity of love is the work of Mara, not seeking the perfections that lead to the other shore is the work of Mara, not desiring to listen to the sacred Dharma is the work of Mara, being stingy with the teacher's instructions on the Dharma is the work of Mara, teaching the Dharma in connection with material gain is the work of Mara, causing sentient beings to fully mature without skillful means is the work of Mara, abandoning the objects of gathering is the work of Mara, being angry with those who are immoral is the work of Mara, being disrespectful to those who possess morality is the work of Mara, conforming to the training of the Hearers is the work of Mara, following the vehicle of the Solitary Buddhas is the work of Mara, desiring to practice at an inappropriate time is the work of Mara, abandoning great compassion and discriminating based on lineage is the work of Mara, desiring the unconditioned is the work of Mara, denouncing the conditioned is the work of Mara, the mind being distracted by whatever sentient beings do is the work of Mara, abiding in pride and not subduing oneself, speaking with a double tongue, possessing deceit and cunning, delighting in pretense, being dishonest, being coarse and barbaric, not reproaching evil, undermining the root of the Dharma, being content with only a little learning, pursuing what is not Dharma, desiring what is not Dharma, and not suppressing obscurations, resolutions, and latent tendencies are the works of Mara, not examining the defilements of the mind is the work of Mara, not being disgusted with the defilements of ascetics is the work of Mara. Son of the lineage, whatever entering into non-virtuous dharmas and abandoning virtuous dharmas, all of that is the work of Mara. By four dharmas, one can greatly transcend these works of Mara. What are the four? They are the six perfections without forgetting the mind of enlightenment, abiding in diligence and mindfulness with faith, abiding in skillful means to fully ripen sentient beings, and abiding in the profound nature of the Dharma, thereby fully upholding the sacred Dharma. Son of the lineage, thus, a Bodhisattva who applies himself to the Dharma completely transcends the path of the four Maras and conquers all Maras and adversaries. Lineage
