Even thousands of times, one cannot comprehend the meaning of the letters. Again, showing it with one meaning, showing it as it is, this is the treasury of the Dharma of all Buddhas, the Bhagavat. Bodhisattvas hold it, so that all letters are not forgotten and all meanings are not lost, making all sentient beings happy. Making all Buddhas extremely pleased. Defeating all demons. Destroying all other heretics. Pacifying all afflictions, and proclaiming the excellent Dharma treasure to them, they hold it in that way. Son of good family, in that way, the Bodhisattva is the holder of the Dharma treasure of all Buddhas, the Bhagavat. Again, son of good family, whatever the essence of the Dharma that I have awakened to, the Bodhisattva should also hold the Dharmas in that essence. Furthermore, how does the Tathagata fully awaken to the Dharmas and attain complete Buddhahood? In the manner of not being fully established, it is the nature of illusion; in the manner of being far beyond the object, it is the nature of dream; in the manner of being completely unborn, it is the nature of mirage; in the manner of not changing, it is the nature of optical illusion; in the manner of having no self-nature, it is the nature of reflection; in the manner of being dependent, it is the nature of emptiness; in the manner of not discriminating, it is the nature of signlessness; in the manner of having no attachment in the mind, it is the nature of wishlessness; in the manner of being free from all desires, it is the nature of desirelessness; in the manner of transcending all numbers, it is the nature of the unconditioned. Thus, son of good family, in conventional terms, relying on the consciousness of others, I have thus realized that Dharma, and the characteristic of the nature of that Dharma cannot be expressed in words. Therefore, the Bodhisattva who wishes to hold the Dharmas should realize the Dharmas of such a nature, and should also show them to other sentient beings and other individuals with letters and definitive statements. Son of good family, how then does the Bodhisattva, from the very beginning, completely mature sentient beings with pure intention?

Shariputra, son of good family, the realm of sentient beings is primordially pure. In it, there is no fundamental entity of sentient beings. The Bodhisattva, knowing that the root of all dharmas is completely severed, thereby ripens all sentient beings. He does not regard that as self, does not regard it as sentient being, does not regard it as life, and does not regard it as person. Furthermore, he thinks thus: "The so-called sentient being is a reversal, said to be a sentient being arising from the pervasive clinging of causal view, as well as ignorance, existence, craving, and non-virtuous conceptualization." Therefore, in order to eliminate the afflictions arising from the non-existent reversal, the Bodhisattva teaches the Dharma to sentient beings, not wasting anything. Because there are no sentient beings and sentient beings are empty, he ripens sentient beings. Thus, the Bodhisattva ripens sentient beings from primordial purity. Son of good family, how does a Bodhisattva, by diligently applying himself to what is appropriate, perfectly gather all the Buddha's teachings? What is appropriate means entering into dependent origination. Why? Because whatever the cause and condition, the result will manifest accordingly. Giving is the cause of great wealth. Whatever the Bodhisattva gives, he dedicates to omniscience, thereby perfecting the perfection of giving. Morality is the cause of being born as gods and humans. Having been born as gods and humans, the Bodhisattva thoroughly establishes sentient beings in morality. He also dedicates that perfect upholding of morality to omniscience, thereby perfecting the perfection of morality. Patience and tranquility are the cause of the adornment of body, speech, and mind. Because body, speech, and mind are adorned, the Bodhisattva engages in benefiting himself and others. He who desires to benefit also dedicates the object of patience to omniscience, thereby perfecting the perfection of patience. Diligence is the cause of gathering all the Buddha's teachings. The Bodhisattva initiates diligence.
