It is so. Son of lineage, the complete purification of meditation of the Bodhisattvas is eightfold. What are the eight? It is like this: meditating but dwelling on the aggregates and not meditating, meditating but dwelling on the elements and not meditating, meditating but dwelling on the sources and not meditating, meditating but dwelling on this world and not meditating, meditating but dwelling on the other world and not meditating, meditating but dwelling on the desire realm and not meditating, meditating but dwelling on the form realm and not meditating, meditating but dwelling on the formless realm and not meditating. Son of lineage, these eight are the complete purification of meditation of the Bodhisattvas. Furthermore, the mind of definite contemplation is the complete purification of meditation. What is the mind of definite contemplation? It is that which is neither high nor low for all dharmas, neither praised nor blamed, without change, without discrimination, without addition, without subtraction, without grasping, without abandoning, without darkness, without light, without thought, without discrimination, without feeling, without attention, not one, not two, not non-two, without movement, without pride, without elaboration, without addition, without subtraction, without meditation, without fear. That which does not abide in all characteristics and objects, that which the mind does not abide in is the mind of definite contemplation. The mind of definite contemplation does not flow towards forms, knowing the eye and form and consciousness, meditating on its own nature completely pure. The mind of definite contemplation does not flow towards sounds, knowing the ear and sound and consciousness, meditating on its own nature completely pure. The mind of definite contemplation does not flow towards smells, knowing the nose and smell and consciousness, meditating on its own nature completely pure. The mind of definite contemplation does not flow towards tastes, knowing the tongue and taste and consciousness, meditating on its own nature completely pure. The mind of definite contemplation does not flow towards touches.

It does not run on the ground, but is aware of body, touch, and consciousness, and meditates on the complete purity of its own nature. If the mind is determined to be aware, it does not run in all dharmas, but is aware of mind, dharma, and consciousness, and meditates on the complete purity of its own nature. Son of good family, just as the sky is not burned when burned by the fire at the end of the kalpa, and the sky does not become wet when destroyed by water, so too, the meditation of a Bodhisattva is like the sky, it is not burned by all afflictions, and it is not attached to all meditations, liberations, samadhis, and equanimities. It is also abiding, and can also settle very well the beings whose minds are distracted. Even if abiding, there is no joy, and even if rising, there is no anger. Although showing peace to the noble ones, in order to fully ripen the non-noble ones, it also intensely burns with diligence. Abiding and equal, it also intensely shows differences to those who act unequally. With equality, it does not see inequality, and with inequality, it does not contradict equality. That which is not contradictory and without contradiction is called the meditator of the mind that is like the sky. It is called the meditator of great wisdom. It is called the meditator of consciousness that does not abide at all. The Bodhisattva who realizes such meditation is the same as the sky of meditation, it is the non-abiding meditation. Then, the Blessed One spoke these verses at that time: With meditation, the senses are completely purified, mindfulness is focused, and the mind is settled. It does not abide in all places, and abides equally for all beings. The aggregates, sources, and elements that abide in internal and external places do not abide, peaceful nirvana is the realm of peace, those wise ones always abide. With equality, it always abides equally, the mind is equal and the same as the realm of dharma. It also shows the extremely peaceful mind, and the wise one is not attached to all meditations. In order to fully ripen beings, death and birth
