It does not exist. That realm exists, it does not change. Having reached the other shore, one knows all phenomena. Having known those, one teaches the Dharma accordingly. This is the twelfth deed of the Victorious One. Son of lineage, furthermore, the Tathagata equally obstructs the obstructing dharmas, and truly knows them as they are. Therefore, no one in the world with gods can obstruct these dharmas, because they are in accordance with the Dharma, and the Tathagata cannot be refuted. So, what are the obstructing dharmas? There is one obstructing dharma. What is that one? It is the mind without faith. There are two obstructing dharmas. What are those two? They are not knowing shame and being shameless. There are three obstructing dharmas. What are those three? They are misconduct of body, misconduct of speech, and misconduct of mind. These are the three. There are four obstructing dharmas. What are those four? They are the four non-courses: going to a non-course out of desire, going to a non-course out of hatred, going to a non-course out of delusion, and going to a non-course out of fear. These are the four. There are five obstructing dharmas. What are those five? They are killing, taking what is not given, engaging in sexual misconduct, lying, and drinking alcohol. These are the five. There are six obstructing dharmas. What are those six? They are not respecting the Buddha, not respecting the Dharma, not respecting the Sangha, not respecting the training, not respecting samadhi, and not respecting the seat. These are the six. There are seven obstructing dharmas. What are those seven? They are pride, great pride, pride beyond pride, the pride of 'I am,' conceit, slight conceit, and wrong pride. These are the seven. There are eight obstructing dharmas. What are those eight? They are wrong view, wrong thought, and wrong speech.

Wrong livelihood, wrong living, wrong effort, wrong mindfulness, wrong concentration, these are the eight. Nine things that will become obstacles, what are the nine? That is, like this, harming me, having done it, will do it, generating a mind of pervasive torment; harming my friends, having done it, will do it, generating a mind of pervasive torment; benefiting those who are not my friends, having done it, will do it, generating a mind of pervasive torment, these are the nine. Ten things that will become obstacles, what are the ten? That is, like this, they are the paths of the ten non-virtuous actions. What are the ten? That is, like this, killing, taking what is not given, sexual misconduct, lying, divisive speech, harsh speech, idle chatter, greed, malice, wrong view, all the phenomena that are associated with improper attention, abiding while following the taste, possessing perversion, being entangled by defilements, having impurities with manifest attachment to existence and views, and all the physical, verbal, and mental actions that are associated with aggregates are obstacles, the Tathagata knows and becomes an obstacle will do, the Tathagata truly declares it as it is, these are the phenomena that will become obstacles. In order to pacify, nearly pacify, and abandon those phenomena that will become obstacles, the Tathagata teaches the Dharma, this is the thirteenth act of the Tathagata. To this it should be said: Whatever Dharma the Victor has realized, if one relies on them, one will not attain liberation. In whom there is abandonment of faith, in whom there is not even a little shame or embarrassment. Likewise, the discipline of body, speech, and mind, in whom there is never any.

Small wife, false speech, and also alcohol, disrespect for the six, and pride for the seven. What are the eight wrongdoings? Those are all obstacles to the path of liberation. In summary, nine things that cause suffering are taught, as well as the paths of the ten non-virtuous actions. For those that do not conform to the proper way, there will never be realization or liberation. Those who are endowed with perversion, and clinging to untrue attachment and consciousness, in order to completely abandon these dharmas, the Victorious Lord Maitreya teaches. Son of the lineage, furthermore, the Tathagata, regarding the noble path of definite emergence, which is the noble path of definite emergence that completely ceases suffering, knows it perfectly as it is. If one relies on it, beings will definitely emerge, and no one in the world, including gods, can argue with the Tathagata, saying, "This is not the path of definite emergence," because it accords with the Dharma. What is the path of definite emergence? It is the sole path that leads to the complete purification of beings. There are two aspects of the path of definite emergence. What are the two? They are calm abiding (shamatha) and insight (vipashyana). There are three aspects of the path of definite emergence. What are the three? They are emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness. These are the three. There are four aspects of the path of definite emergence. What are the four? They are mindfulness of the body, mindfulness of feelings, mindfulness of mind, and mindfulness of dharmas. Among them, establishing mindfulness of observing the body in the inner body, establishing mindfulness of observing the body in the outer body, establishing mindfulness of observing the body in the inner and outer body, observing feelings in the inner feelings, observing feelings in the outer feelings, establishing mindfulness of observing feelings in the inner and outer feelings, observing the mind in the inner mind, observing the mind in the outer mind, establishing mindfulness of observing the mind in the inner and outer mind, observing dharmas in the inner dharmas, observing dharmas in the outer dharmas, establishing mindfulness of observing dharmas in the inner and outer dharmas.
