Whatever Shravakas cultivate Samadhi, the Tathagata fully knows it. Similarly, the Tathagata fully knows those of the Pratyekabuddhas and the Bodhisattvas as well. Having known, he teaches accordingly and reveals accordingly. This is the seventh Tathagata activity of the Tathagata. To that, it should be said thus: Here, the causes and conditions of all afflictions of beings, are fully known by the Victorious One, the self-born, endowed with wisdom. Likewise, the causes and conditions of transforming into purity through diligent practice, are fully known in the order of the Dharma. Non-virtuous conduct is the cause, ignorance is the condition. Ignorance is the cause, action is the condition. Consciousness, name and form, the six sense bases, all the limbs of craving, are the causes and conditions of beings. Afflictions are the cause, actions are the condition. View is the cause, craving is said to be the condition. Pervasiveness and latent tendencies are the cause here. Whatever being arises from the cause, that is the condition here. The causes and conditions of beings transforming into purity are two, namely, hearing corresponding sounds from elsewhere, and having heard, properly contemplating the emptiness of all phenomena within. That will be liberated from the ocean of existence. Shamatha and Vipassana, both united and combined, wherever one practices, there is neither going nor coming. To that, there is no birth, no death, no transference, and no conceptualization. That will flawlessly touch and become completely pure. Having the feet, the three knowledges follow. Having mindfulness, one meditates on the gates of the three liberations. One attains the knowledge of cessation and non-arising, and the truth. This is the cause and condition that leads to the path of purity. The Victorious One, having truly entered into one Samadhi, touches cessation, and thus arises with mindfulness. In accordance with, not in accordance with, and transcendence, the Dharma King enters into the eight liberations. Abiding in the equality of non-equivalence, from one Samadhi, he shows countless billions of Samadhis. The mind is without contamination, and the Dharma is without conceptualization. Therefore, the Victorious One does not abide in equanimity, and the mind does not exist. Whether it is Shravakas or Pratyekabuddhas, Samadhi

. The samadhis of Bodhisattvas are of hundreds of thousands of kinds. All of these are overwhelmed by the power of the Tathagata's samadhi. The activity of the Sugata is to know the teachings and be skilled in them. Son of the lineage, furthermore, the Tathagata remembers the various past existences of himself and other sentient beings, as well as other individuals. For example, he remembers one lifetime. Or two, three, four, five, ten, twenty, thirty, forty, fifty. Or a hundred lifetimes, a thousand lifetimes, a hundred thousand lifetimes, a million hundred thousand lifetimes. The eon of destruction, or the eon of formation, or the eon of destruction and formation, or many eons of destruction, or many eons of formation, or many eons of destruction and formation. Those sentient beings became known as "so-and-so." I was born there, and my name was "so-and-so," my clan was "so-and-so," my lineage was "so-and-so," I ate food like this, my color was like this, my shape was like this, my lifespan was like this long, and I experienced happiness and suffering like this. Having died from there, I transmigrated and was born in such-and-such a place. Having died from there, I transmigrated and was born here, with form, with direction of place, with the basis of what it arose from, I and other sentient beings remember the various past existences. He remembers the past existence of that sentient being. The Tathagata fully knows what the past cause was like, and by what cause each sentient being universally arose, and having known it, he teaches the Dharma accordingly. The Tathagata also fully knows the movement of the minds of all past sentient beings. The Tathagata fully knows under which object of mind, the mind arises in relation to what, and by which object it arises, and by which object it ceases due to incompleteness. Thus, to the extent that the mind of one sentient being passes from one to another, and under such a mind, such a mind arises, it is difficult to express even by expressing it in words for as many eons as there are grains of sand in the Ganges River. Similarly, for all sentient beings as well, each of their minds from one to another
