Also, he speaks of patience. To those who are of diligent faculty but appear to be patient, he speaks of diligence. To those who are of meditative faculty but appear to be wise, he speaks of meditation. To those who are of wisdom faculty but appear to be meditative, he speaks of wisdom. To those who are of the Hearer Vehicle faculty but practice for the Solitary Realizer, he speaks of the Hearer's words and abandons the Solitary Realizer's words. To those whose faculty is determined for the Pratyekabuddha Vehicle and who practice and abide in sound, he excellently teaches the rituals that explain the Pratyekabuddha Vehicle. To those whose faculty is determined for the Great Vehicle and who are those who practice inferiorly, he speaks of the Victorious One's pāramitā words that abide in great compassion. Knowing who has fortune and who does not, the Victorious One speaks thus, and for some, he abides in equanimity. With the ten powers, he knows who has fully matured their faculties and who has not. He also knows the conduct of people's faculties, how they practice, what their thoughts are, what the conditions are, and how they act as causes. He also knows what the object is, what the ultimate result is, and the corresponding cause. Knowing with self-arisen wisdom, there is no mistake in the actions of this teacher. Son of the lineage, again, the Tathāgata knows all paths of travel as they truly are. How does he truly know? He also truly knows the realm of sentient beings that is truly determined. He also truly knows the realm of sentient beings that is undetermined. He also truly knows the realm of sentient beings that is wrongly determined. He also truly knows the realm of sentient beings that has determination. Those sentient beings who have the power of cause, who have perfect previous practice, who can understand with a slight hint, and for those sentient beings who have sharp faculties, whether the Tathāgata teaches them the Dharma or not, they have the fortune to be liberated. The Tathāgata knows the power of the previous cause of those sentient beings, and in order for those sentient beings to be quickly liberated, he teaches them the Dharma in that way. He also truly knows the realm of sentient beings that is undetermined, those who have the power of conditions, and are the characteristics of being matured.

Those sentient beings, if they encounter those who exhort and instruct, they will be liberated, but if they do not encounter them, they will not be liberated. For those beings, the Tathagata will speak the Dharma that possesses causes and conditions in such a way. In this way, those beings, having heard such Dharma from the Tathagata, and applying it properly, will obtain the fruit. For the sake of those beings, the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, appear. The Tathagata also fully knows the realm of sentient beings who are destined to go astray. For those sentient beings who have not been completely subdued, who are narrow-minded, foolish, and unfit to be vessels of the Dharma, whether the Tathagata teaches them the Dharma or not, those beings have no opportunity for liberation. The Tathagata, knowing that those beings are not fit to be vessels of the Dharma, will remain in equanimity. For the sake of those beings, the Bodhisattvas put on armor. Son of the lineage, furthermore, the Tathagata fully knows that there are three paths of desire. What are the three? The path of desire arises from the aspect of suffering, it also arises from the aspect of following attachment, and it also arises from previous causes. There are also three paths of hatred, which the Tathagata also fully knows. The path of hatred arises from the cause of anger, it also arises from the cause of unfulfilled desires, and it also arises from previous latent tendencies. There are also three paths of delusion, which the Tathagata also fully knows. The path of delusion arises from the cause of ignorance (avidyā), it also arises from the cause of the view of the aggregates of existence (satkāya-dṛṣṭi), and it also arises from the cause of doubt. The Tathagata fully knows these. Son of the lineage, furthermore, because of sharp faculties, the Tathagata also fully knows the path of quick and difficult direct knowledge. Because of dull faculties, he also fully knows the path of slow and difficult direct knowledge. Because of sharp faculties, he also fully knows the path of quick and easy direct knowledge. Because of dull faculties, he also fully knows the path of quick and difficult direct knowledge. Because of losing the object of focus, the path of slow and sluggish direct knowledge,
