When seeing beings afflicted by various kinds of sorrow, lamentation, weeping, suffering, discomfort, and strife, beings will generate great compassion for the Shramana Gautama. That Shramana Gautama possesses the thirty-two marks and is endowed with great compassion, therefore, he has no faults. Therefore, we say this: Ignorance, darkness, eternal darkness. When seeing beings whose minds are obscured. And those who are trapped in the prison of samsara. That holy ascetic generates compassion. Always indulging in distractions, and always. Carried away by the four rivers. When seeing beings abiding in the stream of samsara. The one with the ten powers generates compassion. When seeing those who have fallen into a great precipice. Or those who have entered a wrong path. The Muni, with compassion, places them in the state of peace. And on the path of the noble king. When seeing those who are bound, enslaved by craving. Always attached to objects, aging, and. Sinking into the abyss of death. The one with the ten powers generates great compassion. When seeing those tormented by various sufferings. These beings burning with the three fires. And those who fear the lower realms. The one with the ten powers generates great compassion. When seeing those who have minds craving for taste. Always heedless, attached to objects. And afflicted beings in the wilderness of existence. He liberates them. When seeing those who are blind with ignorance, covered with dimness.
