Then (the king) asked questions with words that would not cause harm and reduce fear, and said this: Brahmin, if I ask questions and you allow me to answer them, I will ask about a few aspects. After saying this, the son of the naked ascetic, Satyasena, said to King Tumporab Snang: Great King, please speak whatever you wish to say. Whatever is said, I will answer, and I will make you happy. After permission was granted, King Tumporab Snang said to the son of the naked ascetic, Satyasena: Brahmin, beings, beings, if beings are called in this way, then which dharma is the term for calling beings in this way? He replied: Great King, calling beings in this way is a term for the five aggregates of grasping, which five? The aggregate of grasping of form, feeling, perception, formations, and the aggregate of grasping of consciousness. Great King, it is also by grasping these five aggregates of grasping that the sentient world and the container world are established. Among them, the establishment of the sentient world is encompassed by the four types of birth: womb-born, egg-born, moisture-born, and miraculously born. The establishment of the container world is encompassed by earth, water, fire, wind, and the space element. He asked: Brahmin, who nurtures beings? He replied: Great King, it is the power and mastery of their own karma. He asked: Brahmin, in what way, how does the power of their own karma nurture beings? He replied: Great King, some sentient beings, by the power of their own karma, are born in such places, without possession, without complete ownership, enjoying resources that have not been cultivated or sown, free from disease, enemies, and great suffering, not harming each other, enjoying happiness in abundant lands until the end of their lives, and when the time comes, after the body is destroyed, they will be born in the happy realm of the heavens, like the beings of Uttarakuru.

Such are they. Some sentient beings, due to the power of their own karma, are born at such times, emit light from themselves, travel in the sky, possess joyful food, are not born from a womb, are long-lived and live for a long time. For example, the sentient beings of the first kalpa are like that. Some sentient beings, due to the power of their own karma, possess the strength of the cause of previous merit, and in this life know the other shore, know this shore, regard themselves as renunciates, regard themselves as Brahmins, do meaningful things, do what needs to be done, serve the leaders of their lineage, regard misdeeds as fearful, give various kinds of charity, perform various kinds of merit, abide in proximity by abiding in proximity, uphold morality correctly and abide. For example, the sentient beings of a good time are like that. They were not installed as kings. Great king, if that is so, my karmic duty is to nourish beings. Said: Brahmin, how is it said that the lord of beings nourishes? Said: Great king, kings are called the rulers of beings, and they possess Dharma, as well as discipline, rules, and correct conduct, and are beautiful by causing beings to rejoice, therefore they are called kings. They are also of four types: Wheel-turning kings, great kings, regional kings, and petty kings. A Wheel-turning king is said to be a king who, as a Wheel-turning king, is enthroned from the crown of his royal lineage, conquers the four directions, possesses Dharma, and is a Dharma king who possesses seven precious things. His seven precious things are: the precious wheel, the precious elephant, the precious horse, the precious woman, the precious jewel, the precious householder, and the precious minister. He pacifies the entire earth without harmful strife, without harmful aggression, without punishment, without pursuit by weapons, but with justice that accords with the Dharma, and abides well. Said: In what way and how does he conquer the four directions?
