Shariputra's son circumambulated the Blessed One three times and spoke thus: "Blessed One, what power is it that this great assembly has gathered today? How should I know it?" The Blessed One said: "O son of Sharadvati, this is the power of the Jewel Tarala Dharani." Shariputra's son said: "Blessed One, I wish to hear the Jewel Tarala Dharani." The Blessed One said: "Shariputra's son, go and ask Manjushri, who has become a youth, and the Bodhisattva Samantabhadra." Then, the venerable Shariputra's son said to Manjushri, who had become a youth, thus: "Noble son, please tell us about this Samadhi Jewel Tarala that you have attained." Manjushri said: "Venerable Shariputra's son, who will listen to the Jewel Tarala Dharani?" Shariputra's son said: "These four assemblies and Indra, Brahma, and the guardians of the world are gathered here, and I have also come to listen." Then, Manjushri, who had become a youth, said to the venerable Shariputra's son thus: "Venerable Shariputra's son, these who listen to the Dharma are all like illusions, to whom shall I teach the Dharma? Who is the listener? Who is the speaker?" The elder said: "Noble one, please speak, and we will listen." Manjushri said: "Venerable Shariputra's son, what is the designation of the word 'speak'?" He said: "Manjushri, the word 'speak' is a designation of emptiness." He asked: "Shariputra's son, what is the designation of emptiness?" He said: "Manjushri, emptiness is without words." Manjushri said: "Venerable Shariputra's son, if emptiness is without words, what is to be said? Venerable Shariputra's son, all dharmas are unspeakable, and they are neither speakable nor hearable." The elder said: "Noble son, whatever you teach, all of that is teaching emptiness, teaching without characteristics, teaching without aspirations, teaching without acceptance, teaching without abandonment, teaching without elaboration, that is, teaching without non-elaboration."

Nā no. Then, that assembly of Bodhisattvas endowed with all qualities, along with Indra, Brahma, and the protectors of the world, were all delighted and unanimously praised Mañjuśrīkumārabhūta and the venerable Śāradvatīputra, saying that they had well explained this Jewel Accumulation Dhāraṇī, and they gave their approval. Then, the venerable Subhūti said to Mañjuśrīkumārabhūta: "Mañjuśrī Bodhisattva, how should this Jewel Accumulation Dhāraṇī be held? How should it be recited? How should it be understood? And how should it be widely and truthfully explained to others?" Mañjuśrī replied: "Subhūti, this dhāraṇī should be contemplated as unborn. It should be contemplated as without substance, without characteristics, without elaboration, and without abandonment." When Mañjuśrīkumārabhūta explained this Dharma discourse, ninety-two Bodhisattvas from within that assembly attained the samādhi of courageous conduct. Sixty-two gods and humans attained the tolerance of the unborn Dharma. Then, the Bodhisattva Samantabhadra rose from his seat, draped his upper robe over one shoulder, joined his palms, and addressed the Bhagavan: "Bhagavan, what is the nature of the great compassion of the Bodhisattvas Mahāsattvas?" The Bhagavan replied: "Son of good family, the great compassion of the Bodhisattvas Mahāsattvas is not abandoning the three realms; this is great compassion. Showing all sentient beings the Buddha-fields everywhere; this is great compassion. Completely embracing sentient beings who are immoral; this is great compassion. Not abandoning the Perfection of Wisdom; this is great compassion. Completely giving up body and life for the sake of all sentient beings; this is great compassion. Speaking truthfully of love to sentient beings who engage in desire; this is great compassion. Bestowing love upon sentient beings who are endowed with power; this is the great compassion of the Bodhisattvas Mahāsattvas. Son of good family,
