What is the faith in the Great Vehicle? The faith of creation is the Bodhisattva's generation of the unsurpassed, perfectly complete, and correct enlightenment mind, and the recollection of the generation of the minds of those who have generated the mind. What is this faith in the Great Vehicle? The faith of following and respecting is the Bodhisattvas who follow, following sentient beings and respecting their actions. What is this faith in the Great Vehicle? The faith of devotion is the faith of the Bodhisattvas who are devoted to the profound Dharma realm being taught. What is this faith in the Great Vehicle? Furthermore, there are four kinds of faith. What are the four? They are: faith through seeing and hearing, faith through remembering the increase of teachings, faith through remembering the increase of virtuous qualities, and faith through remembering hope and desire. The faith through seeing and hearing is when one sees or hears the form or light of the Buddha and Bodhisattvas, one has faith in the Great Vehicle. The faith through remembering the increase of teachings is when one remembers the act of fully ripening sentient beings, one has faith in the Great Vehicle. The faith through remembering the increase of virtuous qualities is when one constantly and continuously remembers the Dharma of the aspects of enlightenment and the increase of virtuous qualities, the Bodhisattva has faith in the Great Vehicle. The faith through remembering hope and desire is when one hopes and desires that the Buddha-field will be completely pure and that all the Buddha's teachings will be accomplished through the increase of virtuous qualities, the Bodhisattva has faith in the Great Vehicle through remembering hope and desire. Furthermore, there are four kinds of faith. What are the four? The faith of remembering speech, the faith of remembering the ability to cut off, the faith of remembering creation, and the faith of remembering accomplishment. The faith of remembering speech is when the Bodhisattvas who are devoted to all the gates of the Great Vehicle have faith in the Great Vehicle through remembering devotion. The faith of remembering the ability to cut off is when the Bodhisattva, who has heard much, holds what he has heard, and accumulates what he has heard, remembers the ability to cut off doubt
