Associating with virtue, being separated from all virtue, being completely abandoned by all wise people, committing the five inexpiable sins, abandoning the sacred Dharma, slandering the noble ones, for the sake of compassion for sentient beings who have no compassion, I will endure cold, heat, wind, fever, fatigue, and deprivation with great effort of loving-kindness and the power of diligence. I will walk on foot in villages, cities, towns, regions, countries, and the vicinity of countries. For the sake of benefiting sentient beings, I will eat rough, little, tasteless, extremely despised, and unpalatable food. For the sake of generating their roots of virtue, I will wear clothes that are thick, rough, unpleasant to the touch, made of coarse cloth, tree cotton, hemp cloth, and shrouds. I will dwell in mountains, valleys, dense forests, empty villages, and cemeteries, using bedding of grass mats, hemp, tree leaves, rough, foul-smelling, and unpleasant to the touch. Having donned the armor of skillful means, great compassion, and diligence, I will tell sentient beings various kinds of stories: to the royal families, stories of kingship and wealth; to the Brahmins, stories of the Vedas and astrology; to the ministers, stories of the country and the ends of their work; to the doctors, stories of the elements, medicine, and practice; to the merchants, stories of trade; to the common people, stories of being devoted to the ends of their work; to the women, stories of beauty, ornaments, children, wealth, and being unparalleled; to the ascetics, stories of patience, steadfastness, and diligence in the three actions. For the sake of fully maturing sentient beings, I will cause the unobtained to be obtained and the unmanifest to be manifested. For the sake of completely liberating those who are not liberated, I will gladly accept all kinds of suffering. For the sake of fully maturing sentient beings, I will travel to all places. Even so, these sentient beings there speak ill of me, say unpleasant things, and grow old with the law of jealousy.

And may all poisons, curses, bewilderments, bad dreams, and inauspicious omens be destroyed, and may all beings be nourished by grains, medicines, flowers, fruits, and all essences, and may the royal families, Brahmins, commoners, and Vaishyas be induced to practice virtue, and may they generate the mind of bodhicitta to the utmost, and may they be induced to the paramitas, and may the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas be skilled in the wisdom of means, and may their memory, intelligence, discernment, devotion, courage, steadfastness, and confidence increase, and may they enter the place of empowerment, and for the sake of enabling them to reach the other shore of wisdom, the Tathagatas, Arhats, Samyaksambuddhas of the past have declared and blessed this Dharma category of prophecy entering into the Dharani, Mudra, and word distinctions called "Destroying the Body with the Essence of Dharma, Relying on the Dharma Equality Like Vajra." Through mutual joy, just as the Buddhas, the Bhagavat Buddhas, who now reside in the ten directions, live and abide, have come and dwell in this Buddha-field endowed with the five degenerations for the sake of questioning, may all of them, for the sake of protecting this Buddha-field, make this Dharma category of prophecy entering into the Dharani, Mudra, and word distinctions called "Destroying the Body with the Essence of Dharma, Relying on the Dharma Equality Like Vajra" cause the principle of the sacred Dharma to abide long, and completely destroy all the power of the realm of Mara. Just as it was extensively spoken above, please have compassion and grant my request so that we may reach the other shore of unobstructed wisdom. In order that the principle of the sacred Dharma may abide long in this Buddha-field, and not be obstructed by all external opponents, and become a Dharma of fearlessness, and the lineage of the Three Jewels may not be cut off, and all beings may be nourished by the essence of the Dharma, please speak well, please bless, and after speaking, please rejoice with each other.
