This teacher is in a very bad time, With vast wisdom, he has attained self-arising, In order to perfect all beings, the Teacher, When the world is obscured by afflictions, he teaches the Dharma, While this eloquent lion is dwelling here, Hundreds of thousands of sinful ones, Thus completely destroy the Dharma. The Buddha hero has not gone to the city today. Then, another goddess prayed thus: The past victors strived to benefit the world, They turned the wheel of Dharma in one place, Wherever he went, the wheel also turned there. Today has become inauspicious. Then, another goddess again prayed thus: The navigator, for the sake of compassion, Is very devoted to the benefit of sentient beings, I think that he will be destroyed in this city today. Then, at that time, gods, nagas, yakshas, rakshasas, garudas, kinnaras, and large belly-crawlers, hundreds of thousands, millions, with tears streaming down their faces and dark eyes, descended from the path of the sky, and stood before the Blessed One, manifesting many different forms. Some plucked their hair, some untied their ornaments, some shook umbrellas and victory banners and flags, some threw their bodies on the ground, some grabbed the feet of the Blessed One, some cried very painfully, some beat their chests with their hands, some sat at the feet of the Blessed One and rolled around like birds. Some joined their palms in front of the Blessed One, praising and prostrating. Some scattered flowers, incense, perfumes, garlands, clothes, hanging ornaments, gold threads, pearl necklaces, and silk decorations to the Blessed One. Then, thousands of other gods exclaimed in one voice: World

为了利益之事比这更多， 难以做到的事您都善于行持。 穷尽之时如今您降生， 请您不要舍弃，祈请住世！ 无罪的您成佛之事略微做， 天与人们摄为眷属极其少。 极其长久显现诸法您安住， 从此三有之海救度诸有情。 行持善妙事业种子皆成熟， 成为甘露之器的众多有情， 您生起慈悲各自皆开示， 从河流中救度困苦之世间。 有情前往寂静处流浪徘徊， 于轮回寂静处迷失道路者， 为彼等各自开示殊胜道， 以圣妙之法语句令得解脱。 所转之正法法轮， 是您慈悲稀有奇妙。 具大悲心祈请长久住世， 愿诸有情不成为无怙者！ 此后又有一位天女如此祈请道： 若于百位引导者不悦意， 则此世间所有皆成盲。 八支道与三解脱之因， 于此一切皆不复存在。 语身意所生善妙之种子， 我等以谨慎之心在此播种， 为此我等具足一切安乐， 愿此福德之源不被毁灭！ 又于彼时，清净处之天人百千万亿众多聚集于彼处，对彼等如此说道： 纵然此地有无数魔众降临， 然具大能之能仁永不， 变坏，汝等莫畏惧， 我等皆亲见此善根。 三十六逾缮那迅速且具威力周遍围绕， 无数刀剑兵器锋利粗暴之声，众多怖畏之魔众， 降临菩提树心之时，彼等惊恐而毁灭， 如今已获成就名声远扬，彼等如何能作障碍？ 此后又一天女哭泣着如此说道： 往昔所来乃一魔众，彼等兵力不强， 此乃百千魔众。

For the sake of benefiting others, you have accomplished even more difficult tasks than these. Now, at this time of decline, you have been born. Please do not abandon us, we request you to remain! Sinless one, you have only slightly engaged in the deeds of a Buddha. You have taken only a very few gods and humans under your control. May you reside here for a very long time, teaching the Dharma, And liberate beings from this ocean of the three realms. By performing virtuous deeds and fully ripening the seeds, For the many sentient beings who have become vessels of nectar, May you generate compassion and thoroughly reveal the teachings to each of them, And rescue the afflicted world from the river of suffering. Beings have gone and wander in the midst of desolate places, Having utterly lost their way in the desolate places of samsara. To those beings, reveal the supreme path individually, And liberate them with the words of the noble Dharma. The sacred wheel of Dharma that you have turned, Is a wondrous and marvelous expression of your compassion. Possessing great compassion, we request you to remain for a long time, May all beings not become without a protector! Then another goddess prayed, saying: If one is displeased with hundreds of guides, Then this world will entirely become blind. The cause of the eightfold path and the three liberations, Here, all of that will cease to exist. The seeds of virtue born from speech, body, and mind, We have planted here with mindful diligence, Therefore, we are endowed with all happiness, May this source of merit not be destroyed! Again, at that time, hundreds of thousands of millions of pure abode gods gathered there, and said to them: Even if hundreds of thousands of demons gather in this place, The mighty Thubpa (Buddha), possessing great compassion, will never, Change for the worse, do not be afraid. We have all directly witnessed this virtue. Thirty-six yojanas swiftly and powerfully surround it, The sounds of countless swords and sharp, harsh weapons, the terrifying hosts of demons, When they came to the heart of the Bodhi tree, they were frightened and destroyed, Now that he has attained his purpose and his fame has spread, how could they cause any obstacles? Then another goddess wept and said: In the past, there was only one host of demons, and their forces were not strong, This is hundreds of thousands of millions of demons.
